After signing with Epic Records, they released debut album No Pleasantries, produced by Rick Parashar, in 2000. The albums lead singles, "Godless" and "Feel Alive", charted at numbers 5 and 25 respectively on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts. After touring extensively with the likes of Linkin Park, Slipknot, Nickelback, Godsmack and 3 Doors Down, the group went on hiatus in 2002. During that time, Albro, along with other singers, auditioned to become the singer for Velvet Revolver.
In 2004, the group returned, releasing The Heavy, produced by Rick Parashar, on Nitrus Records. Lineup changes followed with both Shirley and Holt departed the group, replaced by bassist Zoltan Bathory and drummer Philippe Mathys while Logan (Deadly Motor Vehicles) was added as the group's second guitarist. During a show, guitarist Weber suffered a seizure and was later diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor. The group briefly performed without Weber before eventually going on another hiatus.
In 2005, Bathory left the group to form the successful metal group Five Finger Death Punch while Mathys is currently the drummer for Hydrovibe.

Well it was shot from their perspective
But that doesn't mean they were good people
I mean morality is subjective to the viewer right
Someone might find that admirable
Johnny there were like four shoot outs and two car chases
That wasn't exactly high art
I don't know I thought the camera work was great
Nah I'm good
Put the bag down
Well its just
Dude are you filming
Have you been filming since we left school
No its not that its just
You are unbelievable Johnny
You're a creep
Molly wait! Fuck
Excuse me
Ahh shit
The lyrics to U.P.O's song "The Fall" depict a dialogue between two characters discussing a controversial film or story they have watched. The first character seems to question whether they were supposed to root for the bank robber characters in the film. The second character defends the perspective used in the film, explaining that it was shot from the bank robbers' point of view. However, the first character argues that this does not necessarily make the bank robbers good people, as morality is subjective and varies from viewer to viewer.
The conversation continues with the characters discussing the action scenes in the film, with one character criticizing the excessive violence and lack of artistic merit. The other character defends the film, praising the camera work. This exchange reveals different viewpoints on what makes a film enjoyable or meaningful.
As the conversation progresses, tensions rise, and the first character tells the other to put their bag down. There is a sense of unease and suspicion, as the second character is revealed to have been secretly filming since they left school. The first character's irritation escalates, calling the second character a creep. The dialogue abruptly ends when one character, Molly, angrily exclaims and leaves the scene.
"The Fall" explores themes of subjective morality, differing perspectives on art and entertainment, and the consequences of invasive behavior. It suggests that individuals may interpret and react to stories or films differently based on their personal values and preferences.
