@@FunkafiedBandit Well I was getting close but I got a setback on the medical,got stage 1 hypertension so they declared me temporarily medically unfit,so I submitted my appeal told them what I plan on doing to lower it,and that's to go on a three month healthy vegan diet,eating proper healthy training harder I was overweight before too and that raises your BP but I've lost loads of weight now,I've got to do another medical 24 hour BP monitoring in June and once they see the levels are lower I can get on to the next stage of the application,I've been doing this for a month now and my blood pressure is proper low now,it's because I ate too much crap and used to smoke cigarettes all the time but now I've fully cut everything down,in a meantime I'm just getting proper crazy fitness prepared training hard and improving my health,what about you? You joining? Currently serving? Or retired?

This is the most iconic cadence to me. When I finished the crucible at PI and we were on that home stretch from the hump back, my SDI jumped out and took the platoon and began this very cadence. Of course he did a longer version of this but aside from that, for me that moment stood out as much as them placing that EGA in my hand. I felt a sense of empowerment and accomplishment I’ve never experienced prior too. Little did I know I’d go to serve 14 years before ending my service in the military. Wish I could have done more but my wife and kids needed me more. I will always cherish that time I dedicate to this great country. Oorah Marines.

This is my favorite cadence, I’m 17 and wanted to be a marine since I was like 10 and I told my parents and they got mad and they said I’ll change my mind when I’m older….welp my Marine recruiter picked me up the other day and took me to the office and I did a practice asvab and they said that I aced it, my score was a 42. Now my parents signing papers for me to be in the delayed entry program since I have 1 more year in high school and I will be going to MEPS almost right after I graduate from high school. Basically always believe in yourself and stay committed to what you want. 🇺🇸

My $0.02 (and that may be all it's worth) is that if you're not sure about joining, then don't until you are. Something like this either calls you, or it doesn't. No judgment against those who don't because you can't half-ass something like this. The sacrifice is real, the the dedication is real, the work is real... and there is no room for uncertainty. Believe in it and commit with your whole heart, or don't do it at all. I know I may be biased - my grandfather died in the Korean war, my father did two tours of duty in 'Nam and was never the same and I lost a cousin in a non-combat related accident doing maneuvers in Desert Storm so I feel my family has sacrificed enough - but you have to decide for yourself. Good luck with whatever direction you go.
