Memories outstanding. I did three tours as a Drill Instructor. 1 at San Diego as a Corporal. 2 at Parris Island as a Sgt. And GySgt. Series Gunny. Still remember those days. At 68 still working out. Told my family when i die, put some cadence so i can run all the way to my destination. Keep up the good work. Keep us alive. Marine Corps all the way. Semper Fi Marines. Oooooooorah. Devil Dogs. Greetings from GySgt Montemayor Retired USMC 77-97 Santa Rosa, Texas.

My son is at the PI right now, 6th week for them. When he told me he wanted to follow me and be a Marine, my heart dropped. I knew the pain he would go through and that hurt me as a father. I also knew he was done being my youngest son. He would graduate a Marine. Forever changed and I couldn’t be more proud.
He wrote a few weeks in and said knowing I went through and was a Marine helps him every day to keep going. If I could do it, he could. I bawled like a friggin’ baby. No lie.

USMC changed my life. I’m a much better man because of it and the men I served with. I’ll never forget the time I spent servicing my country and being an absolute machine.

52 years later, still proud of my being a Marine. Few people can say that these days. Outstanding, Marine!
