Debut album “Frump Experiments” was released in 2000 as a limited pressing sold only to fans at gigs. The band's first full release was “Total Sonic Mayhem” on the Thundersqueak label in 2002, which consisted partly of some remastered songs from Frump Experiments and some of the tracks included on unofficial Total Sonic Mayhem Session 2 bootleg (finally issued officially for download here in 2014). 2004 album/EP “Offensive” consisted of four new songs and four previously released songs, including live favourite "Idiot", as bonus tracks.
In 2006, the band changed name to UFX and released the album “Crack" and in 2009 the "Sick Sick Sex" album was released.
On 26 January 2014, after a 3 year hiatus, the band's final album "Reverse Engineering (Exits Exist)" is officially released on Last FM and made available for full download .
NEW CAREER IN HELL
UFX Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I got nothing left. Just feeding slugs
Nowhere to go but turn left again
Till it feels right but then I get
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
I'll have to kill you, if I meet you
You're a miserable little liar
You should set yourself on fire
Quit messing with my life
Just 'cause I fucked your wife
Man if someone's gotta go there
I'd rather it was you sir
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
Is it so hard to understand
That I'm Satan's new left hand man
Is it so hard to understand
That I'm Satan's new left hand man
A new career.. a new career.. a new career..
A new career.. a new career.. a new career..
A new career.. a new career.. a new career..
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
A new career.. a new career.. a new career.. in Hell
The lyrics for UFX's song "New Career in Hell" are about a person who has hit rock bottom due to substance abuse and is feeling hopeless. The first verse describes the singer's state of mind, where they feel like they have nothing left and turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. They feel lost, turning left again and again until they find something that feels right, only to realize it is leading them down a path to hell. The chorus, "A new career... in Hell" implies that the singer is at a point of no return, and that they are resigned to a life of misery.
The second verse takes a darker turn, with the singer threatening violence towards someone who they feel has wronged them. The lyrics suggest that this person is a liar and has interfered with the singer's life in some way. The singer expresses a desire to see them suffer, and even goes so far as to suggest that they would rather see this person go to hell than themselves. The final lines of the song repeat the chorus, driving home the idea that the singer has accepted their fate and will be pursuing a new career in darkness.
Overall, the lyrics of "New Career in Hell" paint a bleak picture of a person who has lost their way and feels powerless to change their circumstances. The imagery of hell is used to suggest that the singer is beyond redemption, and that their future is certain to be one of suffering.
