The Answer
UNKLE (Baltimore) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Burning up in our cars
And in our hearts
Better days
Sleeping late, with a headache
Perfect weather
Lay in wait for an answer
They're still waiting
With your tea
Lucky states as the day breaks
The blind are leading the blind
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Xenon lights
Dots go dashing the highways
Nothing's moving
Radiates
Everything lasting for seconds
Evaporated
Lover's lips
Drinking late at the station
Smiling faces
Comic weep,
Wiping your face in whatever
There's an answer.
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
Better, better days with a headache
Perfect weather
The lyrics to UNKLE (Baltimore)'s song The Answer are somewhat abstract and open to interpretation. The opening lines suggest that we are all on a journey, burning up in our cars and hearts as we make our way through life. The mention of "better days" and "perfect weather" creates a sense of longing and nostalgia, perhaps for a time when things were simpler or more carefree.
The second verse introduces the idea of waiting for an answer, with the suggestion that some people are still waiting for something, but it is not clear what that might be. The lines "the blind are leading the blind" suggest a sense of confusion or chaos, with people blindly following others who may not know where they are going.
The third verse takes a more surreal turn, with the mention of "xenon lights" and "dots go dashing the highways". This could be interpreted as a metaphor for the fast-paced, frenetic nature of modern life, where everything moves at a breakneck speed and it can be difficult to keep up. The mention of "lover's lips" and "drinking late at the station" adds a sense of romance and nostalgia, but it is unclear how this connects to the broader themes of the song.
Overall, The Answer is a song that invites listeners to reflect on their own lives and the world around them, and to consider the deeper questions that we all grapple with.

Good taste in music brought me here...

Ma favorite. Their music always makes me consider my life. It is philosophical and heavy and never overreacts. From start to finish, they sing raw.

Years ago, to be precise in 2000 i went to a resort with my family and have seen one of the most beautiful girl in my life. 20 years later i still can't let this memory go from my mind. In 2013 i went to the same resort and wanted to see the same place but it was changed so much by the building contractors. It was nice to be there again but the pain of not knowing her name or whereabouts is staying like a knife wound in my heart.
