Patience
UP SyNDROME Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Shed a tear 'cause I'm missin' you
I'm still alright to smile
Girl, I think about you every day now
Was a time when I wasn't sure
But you set my mind at ease
There is no doubt
You're in my heart now
Said, woman, take it slow
It'll work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said, sugar, make it slow
And we come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
(patience)
Mm, yeah

I sit here on the stairs
'Cause I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you right now
I'll wait, dear
Sometimes I get so tense
But I can't speed up the time
But you know, love
There's one more thing to consider

Said, woman, take it slow
And things will be just fine
You and I'll just use a little patience
Said, sugar, take the time
'Cause the lights are shining bright
You and I've got what it takes
To make it, We won't fake it,
I'll never break it
'cause I can't take it

A little patience, mm yeah, yeah
Need a little patience, yeah
Just a little patience, yeah

I been walkin' the streets at night
Just tryin' to get it right
Hard to see with so many around
You know I don't like
Being stuck in the crowd
And the streets don't change
But baby the name
I ain't got time for the game
Cause I need you
Yeah well I need you
Oo, I need you

Yeah, I need you
Oo, all this tiiiiiiime

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to UP SyNDROME's song "Patience" convey the idea of the struggle to maintain a relationship with a loved one through difficult times. The first verse begins with the singer expressing their longing for their love interest, shedding tears because they miss them. However, the singer is still able to put on a smile despite their yearning for the other person. The chorus emphasizes that patience is key, as the couple comes together slowly but surely. The second verse sees the singer sitting alone on the stairs, choosing to wait for their love interest to return, rather than try to fill the void with someone else. The verse ends with the sentiment that despite the hardships, the couple has what it takes to make it and won't give up easily.

The main theme of this song is about the importance of patience in relationships. The song is expressing how the singer misses the love interest, but they still have to wait and not rush into things. The chorus repeats the phrase "all we need is just a little patience" to drive home the message. Additionally, the use of distinct gendered terms like "woman" and "sugar" in the song speaks to a sense of longing for a more traditional way of love and courtship.

Another great video, after finding your videos almost 3 months ago I am getting nice steady progress within my energy limits. It still brings a tear to the eye to hear someone speak in a way that gets it completely!

@Laura_B__

This video is really good. I recently experienced this very thing - I was starting to feel better, and I wasn't careful enough, I started living like a normal person for a few days, and ended up crashing. I will try to remember the analogy of the buffet, and learn to be satisfied with just a few bites at a time.

Miguel, I was wondering if you might consider doing a video aimed not at the CFS sufferers, but at our loved ones? I mean a video explaining to them what is going on with our nervous systems, and what things they can do to support us in recovery. I'm sure many of us have partners who would like to support our recovery but don't really understand what CFS even is let alone how we can get out of it.

@Murphy.R

"What's the rush?" Love that question. And that internal developing awareness... And that things get way easier when we're well than what we're going through...thank you for those perspectives. Great things take time!

@cfsrecovery

Absolutely! "What's the rush?" is a powerful question that reminds us to embrace the journey and trust the process. Great things indeed take time, and I'm glad you found those perspectives helpful. Keep embracing the journey, and remember, I'm here cheering you on every step of the way! 😊🌟
