I was born on 1980 in Mexico City my dad brought me to the US when I was 9 but when I was in high school I started to listen to this rolas and never stopped. Grew up in Watts & Compton & Pico/Union. Went to high school in the 1960's. East Los Angeles was righteous then on to Eastside San Jose cruising down Story and King Road. It all became one big parade of fine cars, cool people, everyone enjoying themselves. And the music has been, is, and will always be - a remarkable, never ending, collection of beautiful memories. Met my Husband in 1979, I was 18 and my 1st love...he introduced me to the Lowrider music and I immediately fell in love with the music. He was a Marine and spent time in Santa Ana and even took me on vacation there....he was a great man. He passed away too soon in the month of May. So I tend to reminisce about him alot this time of year. And, this music always brings back great memories...lol and little crazy ones lol
I will be turning 61 this year, but this music still has the power to send me back when I was sweet 18 and making memories with my love.

I was born in '82. In the 80's in Chicago the bars on southside still had these playing. They were neighborhood bars on every other corner. My dad knew most of the owners, so I'd walk right in, while most of these joints were playing.

This music is from the 50's, 60's, 70's! In Albuquerque we'd have a dance at our middle school's and high school's on Friday night's. The kid's who had band's would play. Then I moved to Azusa, California and all the bands would rehearse in their garages during the week. They'd play at event's or parties during the weekend. The group "Balance" is a famous band in California from Azusa. I dated Michael Rodriguez from the group... Greatest music ever!

i love this reminds of the late 1960s while growing up with my brothers and sister. they would listen to all these songs and in fact my brother was in a lowrider car club in california crazy but amazing life and memories. love the songs and always a place in my heart forever. tysm for sharing this time capsule
