----------------
Ultraspank was a metal band in the 1990s and early 2000s. Their original name was Spank, but due to legal reasons they were forced to change it. During an interview with Rob Zombie, Zombie suggested they should call themselves "Ultra" Spank. This is noted in the liner notes of their self titled debut.
Their second album, "Progress" came out in 2000, and didn't sell very well due to a lack of promotion. After being dropped by their record label, they split up, and guitarist Neil Godfrey joined downthesun to record their self-titled debut album. Before the album's release, Godfrey exited downthesun and joined Motograter for a brief period before starting Lo-Pro with former vocalist Pete Murray (not to be confused with Australian singer Pete Murray).

It's dark
Right now
Release me
I've come this far
I don't need you
I don't miss much
I don't miss you
See right through me
Convince me that I'm wrong
Feed me this line of bullshit
Convince me to be strong
Did it before
And you'll do it again
Step on my toes
As you call me a friend
Your massive attack
Is to prey on the weak
Let the fun begin
Every time you speak
See right through me
Convince me that I'm wrong
Feed me this line of bullshit
So twisted in your song
Under
Inside
Right now
Release me
The lyrics of "Feed" by Ultraspank explore the theme of toxic relationships and the struggle of breaking free from them. The song begins with the lines "Under, it's dark, right now, release me", which suggest a feeling of being trapped and in need of escape. The singer goes on to declare that they have come a long way and no longer need the other person, insisting "I don't miss much, I don't miss you." However, the other person is portrayed as manipulative and persistent in their attempts to convince the singer to stay, feeding them "this line of bullshit" and trying to convince them to be strong.
The second verse continues in this vein, with the singer accusing the other person of having done this before and being likely to do it again, stepping on their toes while pretending to be a friend. The other person's tactics are described as a "massive attack" on the weak, with every interaction feeling like a battle. The chorus repeats the desire to be released, but with a sense of desperation, as the other person "feeds" them twisted lines and convinces them they are in the wrong.
Overall, the lyrics of "Feed" are a visceral representation of the pain and frustration of being unable to break free from a toxic relationship. The use of images of darkness and weakness emphasizes the feeling of being trapped, while the repeated demand for release and the accusatory tone towards the other person convey a strong sense of anger and defiance.
