[Instrumental]

Overall Meaning

As this song is instrumental, there are no lyrics to interpret. However, interpreting instrumental music can still be a subjective and personal experience. Without the guidance of lyrics, listeners may focus more on the emotions conveyed by the melody, the use of various instruments, and the overall mood of the piece.

One way to interpret Ulver's Kveldssang is to consider the meaning of the title itself. Kveldssang is a Norwegian word that translates to "evening song" or "night song." The song may evoke images of a tranquil evening or the deep, mysterious darkness of the night. The slow, delicate piano melody and dreamy ambience of the song can create a sense of calm and introspection, suggesting that this is a time for peaceful reflection.

Overall, the interpretation of Kveldssang may vary depending on the individual listener's experiences, emotions, and associations with instrumental music. However, it is clear that this piece is designed to transport the listener to a specific time and place, and to evoke a particular mood and emotional response.

Always liked this period of Ulver - Perdition City, the Silence EPs, all the soundtracks they did around that time. I think for this recording they might of used similar equipment as they did with Perdition City so these EPs kind of compliment that record.
