This is a very good cover, first time I've heard it as an old-school Black Sabbath fan. Ulver has brought something new to it to create an even more atmospheric song while remaining respectful to the original. Yes, I approve.

This actually may be one of the best Sabbath covers ever. Ulver just one-ups the atmosphere on this compared to the original song.
It's has a pinch of Coil's dark ambient-esque songs.

Cathedral's cover is good, but it's kinda just copied note for note. They don't put their own personal touch on it, hence why I like this one more

The Trumpet in this reminds me of Yoko Kanno's Strangers. It's very nice to say the least. Also, those sounds of waves in the background, this just about moves me to tears.

Really cool, the end with the strings and the piano is really beautiful. Does anybody know of any more songs that use a similar effect? I know of some songs by Destroyer's that use the trumpet like this from the album Kaputt, and also Vangelis' Le Singe Bleu

It's the best cover song EVER! I't better even than Ulver's "Strange Ways", which I considered unbeatable. It sounds more like trumpet than a sax, but who cares? It's a fuckin' MASTERPIECE and it's all that matters :) wolves evolve!

Yeah I completely agree. Ulver has had some good releases outside of the metal, but man, in Shadows of the Sun... Garm is one of my favorite vocalists for all his styles and pitches but in this album he's barely even trying.

Ulver is a very sophisticate band, I specially like bands that start playing one style and keep evolving, like Current 93 and Death in June. I really like this album, and this is a very solid cover of Sabbath's original, I really like all the little touches.
