Reflection
UnBroken Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A reflection of pain that's seldom felt,
I feel that all is never heard,
All creations should have their rights,
Even if it means you will not prosper,
Your foundation will fall, the question is not can they talk,
They may not reason just like us,
It's fact that we all know they suffer,
If your foundation does not change my grip will tighten,
Your conscience will begin to burn you through,
This inaccurate portrayal of human life must end,

Your foundation's walls will begin to fall
And all that's not pure will suffocate

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of UnBroken's song Reflection are a call for change in the way we treat animals. The songwriter reflects on the pain and suffering animals go through and how their voices are seldom heard. The song inspires the listener to fight for the rights of animals, even if it means sacrificing personal gain. The lyrics suggest that if we do not change our ways, we will be the ones to suffer in the end, with our foundation crumbling and our conscience burning.

The songwriter also addresses the misconception that animals do not reason like humans. The lyrics state that although they may not think like us, it's a well-known fact that they suffer. The call for change is dire, as the songwriter warns that if our foundation does not change, their grip will tighten and our conscience will burn. The lyrics suggest that ending the inaccurate portrayal of human life is the first step in initiating this change. Only then will the walls of our foundation begin to fall, and all that is not pure will suffocate.
