Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Unbunny's song "Super Sonic" seem to be somewhat surreal and absurd, with a variety of disconnected lines and images that don't easily fit together. The repeated refrain of "Super sonic" creates a sense of energy and urgency, but it's not clear what's driving that energy or what it's supposed to accomplish. The first verse describes a number of possessions that the singer has, including combat boots, a lunch box, and toothpick motor skills (whatever those are). The idea of freeze-dried torture cream is particularly odd and unsettling, suggesting a kind of sadistic glee on the singer's part.

The second verse seems to be drawing on some kind of personal history or mythology, with references to growing up in a pencil factory and Christianity killing the cat (a variation on the classic saying "curiosity killed the cat"). The singer declares that they don't owe anything to the "doggie" (presumably a reference to the common phrase "doggie in the window"), and that the doggie doesn't owe them anything either. It's not entirely clear what this exchange is supposed to represent, but it adds to the overall sense of oddity and disjointedness in the song.
