Sister
Uncle Fester Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

If I changed it must've crept up on me by stealth
'Cause I can't see no difference in myself

Didn't I always get so drunk?
Always got me stoned on skunk

You call me every name under the sun
'Cause I still want to go out and have fun

I still jump around to punk
I still need to score some junk

Is she really going out with Himmler?
Well that's some fucked up little sister

So fucked u

The lyrics to Uncle Fester's song "Sister" capture the angst of someone who feels like they are outgrowing their current lifestyle, but can't quite find a way to move on. The first two lines suggest that the persona has changed in some way, but is unable to see or acknowledge it within themselves. This immediately sets up a theme of internal conflict and denial, which is further emphasised by the subsequent lines.

The next set of lyrics highlights the persona's tendency towards addiction and self-destructive behaviour. They reminisce about getting drunk and high on drugs, suggesting a history of substance abuse that they are unwilling to leave behind. This is emphasised by the lines "I still need to score some junk", which suggests that they are still actively seeking out drugs despite any negative consequences.

The final set of lyrics take a sharp turn with the mention of "Himmler", which suggests that the persona's sister is dating someone with extreme far-right views. The use of the word "fucked up" to describe the sister implies that the persona does not approve of this relationship, and perhaps feels helpless to change it.

As morbid as they appear, they're still far more functional than most families, these days.

"Mamma's Spécialité de la Maison..." Very impressive french accent! Just perfect.

@FlutterMouse

alexbtps1 doesn't that just mean house special?

@alexbtps1

You're right, it's her Mother's house special (translated words by word). Because "Maison" means House/Home or Restaurant, if i had to translate to give the sense without using french words, it would be "My Mum make this Course so special she could run a Restaurant!". From what i can see in plates, i'm not sure it would be successful. Have a good day!
