The duo teamed up with local bassist Kenn Davis, Kentucky-native Brandon Sidebottom, and Russell Lee, former Deepfield drummer from Charleston, SC. With an in-your-face high-energy live show and a relentless touring ethic, Under The Flood is making their stamp in the rock industry. Their debut record The Witness was produced by Brian Craddock (Daughtry), mixed by Skidd Mills (Saliva, Saving Abel), and released worldwide by Koch Records in May 2008.

The new Album showcases the group’s growth and maturity as a band. It sheds light on a darker side of Under the Flood while maintaining their trademark melodic sound and lyrical substance.

Afraid to close my eyes
See your face now
As the light turns out
God knows I try
But I keep setting my self to fail
I changed my mind
So I let go
Of my wanted pride
I know that it's too late
And I break down
All alone now
The candles fading out
Should've known how
To separate my doubt
Awaiting this night
So I let go of my wanted pride
I know that it's too late
And I break down
I couldn't save the one that I always loved
I'm dying each that you're away
You shine your light
But I lost my way
And I can't breathe
All alone now
The candles fading
So I let go
Of my wanted pride
I know it's too late
And I'll break down
I couldn't save the one that I always loved
I'm dying with each day that you're away
Ill let it go
All of my pride
I know it's too late
And I'll break down
Couldn't save the one
The one I always loved
I'm dying with each day
Each day that you're away.
The lyrics of "Endless" by Under the Flood revolve around the theme of heartbreak and losing someone you love. The song begins with the singer lying face down, afraid to close his eyes because he sees her face when he does. The singer admits that he has tried but continues to fail, and he has now changed his mind. The chorus is an acknowledgment that it is too late to save the relationship, and he must let go of his pride and accept his defeat. The candles are fading out, and the singer is all alone, awaiting the inevitable end.
The second verse echoes the same sentiments, emphasizing how the singer couldn't save the one he loved even though he tried his best. The line "You shine your light, but I lost my way" could mean that the other person was still in love with him, but he got so consumed by his doubts that he failed to reciprocate. The bridge sees the singer admitting that he would let go of his pride and accept his defeat, even though it kills him every day that she stays away.
Overall, "Endless" is a poignant account of heartbreak and coming to terms with the end of a relationship. The singer's honest and raw emotions are relatable and raw, making the song poignant and moving for anyone who has gone through a similar situation.
