In Regards To Myself
Underoath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wake up! Wake up! My God!
This is not a test!
And it's not too late to come clean
Get it off your chest
So steady your hand before your face and concentrate
There's got to be some stable ground
Left to walk on
So tear another page from the book
Are you asleep or just alone?
Clear this room from your lungs

Pull yourself together
Pull yourself together, man
Pull yourself together
Pull yourself together

On your back
You're sleeping in a bed of shame
Let the light breath some new life into this room
It's what keeps you coming back
Made up of insatiable taste
Bury your head in your hands
And sink into yourself

Oh!

Just what are you so afraid of?
What are you so afraid of?
You're staring truth in the face
So come on down
What are you so afraid of?

You're busy living now, aren't you? (No!)
You're busy making vows
You're coming unglued

Time is shorter than you know
I know the light is blinding to the naked eye
So why don't you take steps away from being alone?
I swear, it's not too late for you

It's all worth reaching for
It's all worth reaching for
It's all worth reaching for
The hand to pull you out
It's all worth reaching for
The hand to pull you
Out

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!

And step outside your box
Wake up!

Trevor Robinson

I strongly think this is the greatest heavy song ever written

SunahGahd

Amen

LanreLordHaliax

This is still one of the best albums ever made, in my humble opinion.

Might be their masterpiece.

Trevor Robinson

Ez best heavy/hardcore of all time. Such a different sound that still hasnt been replicated to this day

Paper Shroom

One of the best intros to an album. That opening riff.

Sovereign Mind

Underoath does such a great job of integrating clean vocals in this album. They very rarely have an overly poppy or long chorus, its generally one or two lines or a short hook and it always just adds to the energy of the song, never detracts from it. This is coming from someone who rarely enjoys clean vocals in heavy music too. This album is so fucking good

Brennan D

Sovereign Mind as someone who also rarely enjoys cleans, I’m trying to figure out which underoath albums I should listen to first. Not sure if you’ve heard Amia Venera Landscape but anything from underoath that sounds like that band would be great

Omega ZX

Poppy doesn't mean bad imo, though I'm not a fan of the sugary high-pitched vocals trend in metalcore

Christopher Cajen

This is where underoath peaked. I say that with the utmost respect for these gentlemen. One of the greatest albums they ever produced.
