With a crew composed of 7 different beings, the atmosphere sometimes takes the form of symphonic proportion by its sound diversity and arrangements. Their vocal performance range from one extreme to the other as they alternate between glorious choirs; inhuman screams of deep, high, mid-growl and delirious intensity; theatrical narrations and clean/sober sections strewn with bewitching feminine singing pleasures.

Megalomaniac Trees
Unexpect Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To acquire the honor of dishonor
Humble idea for Machiavellian seeds
To grow their old megalomaniac trees
See no evil, hear no evil ; Ellet tse erton esived
In sick organic shadows
The test-tube men eliminate themselves
Inside this asymmetric archaic circle
See no evil, hear no evil ; Ellet tse erton esived
Tragedy of selfishness become as they are
Their old bark left bare and infected
Root's thirst so immense
It could transorm the sea to salt
Enu ratis... will ends the events
I know you will be...lenger arelurb
You will see, Trom te eiffiret
Tnemeleus at xiork Arengiomet ed nok reunnohsed
Enu ratis... will ends the events
I know you will be an ancient shadow
See no evil, hear no evil ; Ellet tse erton esived
The tragedy is just beyond our roots The world stops...
We wander here, where only the mad knows the truth
And knowledge testify in their names
We barter our bark like stupid pawns sacrificing for their king
Like some miracle boy's transformations
We transmuted our sap into living bribes
The lyrics to Unexpect's song Megalomaniac Trees speak to the idea of power and greed driving individuals to do ruthless things and become corrupt. The opening line refers to being confined in a space and performing like animals for the sake of gaining notoriety and recognition, even if it's in a dishonourable way. The idea of planting megalomaniac trees suggests that the desire for power and control has been present from the beginning and is being nurtured to grow and thrive.
The line "see no evil, hear no evil" is a nod to the famous proverb that encourages people to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to negativity or wrongdoing. The backwards message "Ellet tse erton esived" spelled in reverse is "Devises not trees tell," which indicates the idea that it's not nature or the environment that's causing destruction, but rather human greed. The song describes a world of shadows and nano-things, where organic and inorganic things intertwine, and the test-tube men eliminate themselves.
There is an element of tragedy to the lyrics, as selfishness leads to the destruction of the very things that were sought after. The thirst for power and domination is so intense that it could turn the sea into salt. The references to Enu ratis are cryptic and could refer to the end of events or the end of the world. The song speaks to the idea that the quest for power and control can ultimately lead to destruction and shadows of what was once great.

2006 is not realy nowadays, and they were classical incoporation in metal at least since the 80s. And actualy i don't realy see classical in unexpect, its more free jazz and circus music.

The chorus of this song is so darn catchy. I have no idea how the heck to pronounce most of what they're singing, but that doesn't stop me from singing/yelling it as loud as I can in my local supermarket!

This music causes divination, to say the least. Not for the faint of heart.
