They don't like their constitutions
Everyday they draw conclusions
And they're still prepared for war
Some can say what's ineffective
Some make up themselves attractive
Build up things they call protective
Bridge:
In the sky a mighty eagle
Doesn't care 'bout what's illegal
On its wings the rainbow's light
It's flying to eternity
Chorus:
Eagle fly free
Let people see
Just make it your own way
Leave time behind
Follow the sign
Together we'll fly someday
Hey, we think so supersonic
And we make our bombs atomic
Or the better quite neutronic
But the poor don't see a dime
Nowadays the air's polluted
Ancient people persecuted
That's what mankind contributed
To create a better time
Bridge:
In the sky a mighty eagle
Doesn't care 'bout what's illegal
On its wings the rainbow's light
It's flying to eternity
Chorus:
Eagle fly free
Let people see
Just make it your own way
Leave time behind
Follow the sign
Together we'll fly someday
The song "Eagle Fly Free" by the German power metal band Helloween, speaks about the confusion and chaos that exists in the world, where people are not satisfied with their life or the government, and how the world continues to be consumed by wars. The lyrics are a call to action, urging people to rise above this confusion and take control of their lives. The opening lines of the song paint a grim picture of the world, where people are disillusioned with their lives and their governments.
The first verse also talks about how people tend to look for solutions to their problems in all the wrong places. Some people try to make themselves more attractive to improve their image, while others build protective walls around themselves. The song calls out the absurdity of this behavior, suggesting that it is bizarre to lead such a life. In contrast, the eagle in the song is depicted as a powerful and majestic creature, above all the human pettiness. It takes to the skies and spreads its wings, without any care of the world's legality. The rainbow light on its wings symbolizes hope, love, and peace. The chorus of the song depicts the eagle as a symbol of true freedom, encouraging people to follow its lead and make their way in the world, transcending time and finding their path.
In the second verse of the song, the focus shifts to the technology-driven aspect of the modern world. People tend to consider themselves as unstoppable, creating bombs that can cause mass destruction. While the contemporary world continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, the song talks about the lack of empathy for the poor and the plight of persecuted tribal communities. The song, therefore, asks for introspection, challenging the deeds of mankind, and urges listeners to come together in pursuit of a better tomorrow - a world of peace, harmony, and love.
