1. Unicorn from the United Kingdom played country and folk rock. They broke up in 1977. Several of the bands album were produced by (and featured contributions by) David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.
2. Unicorn was a progressive melodic rock band from Sweden, fronted by Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale). They released two full-length albums (Emotional Wasteland and Ever Since), two EPs (After Before and The Weirdest of Tales), and two demos (A Collection of Worlds I and A Collection of Worlds II).
The band's style was a far cry from the brutal death metal Swano would later become known for. (Swano formed Unicorn as a young teen.) Unicorn is a very melodic, light progressive band. Nightingale comes closest to their style, though even Nightingale is much heavier.
Swano is currently working on a new project called Second Sky. He says Second Sky is the new Unicorn. An album is expected in 2009.
3. Unicorn (ユニコーン) is a Japanese band fronted by Okuda Tamio(奥田民生), active in the 80s and early 90s. During that time the band released eight albums and nine singles. The band reunited in 2009.

Nelson formerly of Bastard Noise (risen from the ashes of Man Is the Bastard) and Sleestak has released a split CD with noise artist 2673, a split CD with Bastard Noise, and a full-length titled "Playing with Light". Less harsh and more melodic than previous projects.

When I'm riding my horse
Something special you can't say at all
There's a dream that I've got, that I've got
There's a dream that I've got, that I've got
There are fields where I'll go, where I'll go
There are fields where I'll go, where I'll go
Now your tears have gone down far away from that land
Dreaming somehow of the time that we spent
Hear, my ride is echoing aloud through that land
Now I'm free and alive in that land
Sinking into the oblivion with me, myself and I
Completely free and with my heavy metal still on me
There are fields where I'll go, where I'll go
There are fields where I'll go, where I'll go
Now your tears have gone down far away from that land
Dreaming somehow of the time that we spent
Hear, my ride is echoing aloud through that land
Now I'm free and alive in that land
Tears have gone down far away from that land
Dreaming some how of the time that we spent
Here my ride is echoing aloud through that land
'cause my dream is true now, in that land…
…this is my dream and now I'll go, now I'll go…
The Unicorn's song "Elysian Fields" has a very dreamy and surreal quality to it that captures the essence of escapism. The opening lines of the song capture a feeling of something both powerful and indescribable that the singer experiences when riding their horse. The repetition of the phrase "There's a dream that I've got, that I've got" further emphasizes this sense of longing, which eventually takes the singer to the "fields" where they can finally find solace.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the singer has left their past pain and sorrow behind and is now reflected in the "tears that have gone down far away from that land." The image of the singer's ride "echoing aloud through that land" creates a sense of freedom and liberation, which is beautifully captured in the chorus of the song, "There are fields where I'll go, where I'll go."
The lyrics of the song paint a vivid picture of a world beyond this reality. The use of imagery and metaphors emphasizes the theme of escape and fantasy while creating an otherworldly atmosphere that is mesmerizing. The Unicorn's "Elysian Fields" is a mesmerizing hymn that celebrates freedom, solitude, and escapism.
