Their first album "Rakkautta ja Piikkilankaa" included a lot of love songs. In contrast, their second album "Kehä" had more of a brutal sound. The lyrics and the sound of vocals were improved. Their 3rd album, "Luotisade" was released on the 22nd of August, 2007, which is said to have the "darkest atmosphere of Uniklubi's releases." Their compilation album "Kaikki Mitä Mä Annoin 2003-2008" was released on the 17th September 2008. Their fourth album "Syvään valoon" came out in March 2009 and their fifth album "Kultakalat" was released in 22nd September 2010.

Uniklubi Lyrics

Jonka ikkunoissa kuolevaa valoa
Seinät kaatuu sisälle jään
En täältä mitään pysty pelastamaan
Tässä eteisessä kaikki loppuu ja alkaa
Putoan kuin kivi maahan
Katson kuinka vesi nuolee suihkun lattiaaVirtaavaa vettä ja mustia aukkoja
Mietin tässäkö elämä on
Hauras ja mittaamaton
Ja loppuuko maailmasta vesi
Jos tähän jään
Liian kauan on nielty sanoja
Et mua kuule tai et ehkä halua
Mitä sanomatta jää
On lyijyä mun sisällä
Joka aamuinen viima mut nujertaa
Putoan kuin kivi maahan
Katson kuinka vesi nuolee suihkun lattiaa
Virtaavaa vettä ja mustia aukkoja
Mietin tässäkö elämä on
Hauras ja mittaamaton
Ja loppuuko maailmasta vesi
Jos tähän jään
Uniklubi's "Jos tähän jään" intricately weaves themes of despair, existential reflection, and the struggle against the passage of time. The opening lines set a scene of a domesticated but crumbling shelter, underlined by the symbolic imagery of "dying light" in its windows. This creates a poignant atmosphere of decay, suggesting that the singer has invested significant effort into maintaining a house that is metaphorically akin to their own life or mental state. The mention of walls collapsing inward implies a sense of entrapment and impending doom, symbolizing external pressures that lead to internal disintegration. This imagery powerfully expresses the feelings of hopelessness and futility, evoking the sentiment that there is little to salvage from a collapsing world in which beginnings and endings coalesce in the same space.
As the song progresses, the metaphor of falling "like a stone" serves to reinforce feelings of weightiness and inability to escape. The singer's gaze captures a mundane yet intimate scene—water trickling on the shower floor—contrasted with profound concepts like “black holes,” which suggest depth, emptiness, and possibly the fear of annihilation that resides beneath the surface of ordinary life. Gushing water invokes ideas of fluidity and the passage of time, further underscoring the existential inquiry: is this all that life has to offer? The exploration of fragility and the immeasurable nature of life hints at existential dread, as the singer grapples with the notion of life's value amidst inevitable decay. Hence, the questioning of whether “the world will run out of water” reflects a deeper anxiety about resource scarcity, much like the depletion of hope and joy in life itself.
The third stanza pivots toward communication and the silencing that often accompanies emotional turmoil. The singer acknowledges swallowing words for too long, which represents a deep-seated reluctance or inability to express vulnerability and true feelings to others—perhaps out of fear of rejection or misunderstanding. The line, “Et mua kuule tai et ehkä halua,” hints at an emotional disconnect where the singer feels overlooked or invalidated by the people surrounding them. This leads to a vivid internal struggle, as the “lead” weighing down the singer represents unresolved issues or burdens that contribute to a sense of being trapped. The phrase “joka aamuinen viima” evokes the chilling winds of reality that can metaphorically disarm the singer each morning, further emphasizing the cyclical nature of their pain and isolation.
Returning to the refrain encapsulated by the imagery of flowing water and gravitational pulls, the lyrics suggest a meditative state where the singer is caught between introspection and resignation. The repetition of falling and the encounter with water reinforces a spiraling state of emotions, caught in a contemplation of existence while recognizing the limitations of their situation. Ultimately, the query of whether the singer will remain “if I stay here” speaks to a larger fear of stagnation—the dread of being unable to move forward while grappling with life's frailty. Ultimately, the song expresses a longing for understanding and connection, yet simultaneously evokes feelings of despair, as the singer seems to teeter on the edge of surrendering to that which confines them, questioning the vital essence of life in the shadows of their discontent.

Olen pitänyt pystyssä taloa
I have supported a structure
Jonka ikkunoissa kuolevaa valoa
Whose windows reflect the fading light
Seinät kaatuu sisälle jään
The walls collapse inward, I remain
En täältä mitään pysty pelastamaan
I cannot rescue anything from this place
Tässä eteisessä kaikki loppuu ja alkaa
In this hallway, all ends and begins anew
Putoan kuin kivi maahan
I fall to the ground like a stone
Katson kuinka vesi nuolee suihkun lattiaa
I watch as water caresses the shower floor
Virtaavaa vettä ja mustia aukkoja
Flowing water and voids of uncertainty
Mietin tässäkö elämä on
I ponder if this is what life truly is
Hauras ja mittaamaton
Fragile and immeasurable, existence weighs heavy
Ja loppuuko maailmasta vesi
And will the world run dry of water
Jos tähän jään
If I remain in this stagnant state
Liian kauan on nielty sanoja
For too long, words have been swallowed whole
Et mua kuule tai et ehkä halua
You either don’t hear me, or perhaps don’t care to
Mitä sanomatta jää
What remains unspoken lingers heavily
On lyijyä mun sisällä
It feels like lead weighing down inside me
Joka aamuinen viima mut nujertaa
Each morning's chill overwhelms and bends me
Putoan kuin kivi maahan
I fall to the ground like a stone
