I get that Universal has limited space and they want to create new experiences, but seriously, why add another Minions attraction? This could easily be a different illumination attraction or a different Dreamworks themed attraction. Minion Mayhem opened 10 years ago....not sure about the longevity of another attraction. Universal really should have thought about converting Shrek into Sing, and Blue Man Group into Secret Life of Pets. That would be a whole illumination land right at the front of the park.

Is it me or do I just don’t see a conveyor belt system working? Especially if people can just so easily walk off the conveyor belt. I think if they’re gonna do that it would have to be a legit ride with a restraint system, perhaps an omni-mover like Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, etc.

They probably wouldn't even need much of a separator because even a small one would suggest to guests that they aren't meant to wander. Also, there'd be no reason to scoot ahead or move back because it would be pretty obvious that each station will get a new group every time the walkway moves.

I feel like an attraction where you need to stand the whole time wouldn't go over well. Guests could walk backwards to get higher scores and bother other guests, and it just seems unpleasant to have to keep standing after you waited in line. I'd rather sit in a moving ride vehicle for a shooting gallery ride.

If that's happening, I think it means the minion attraction across the street will then close. That motion theatre has been there since park opening, and the tech is very outdated. I believe, where it's located, Universal could build a pretty large ride, outside park boundary, with the existing show building as the entrance.

I definitely don’t see this being a moving walkway attraction given the fact that universal literally has a moving walkway going to city walk from the parking lot and people already struggle to use those ALOT. And if u include turns in a moving walkway it sounds like a terrible idea.

Honestly I was hoping for something other than Minions. I just feel like Universal is starting to become less and less diverse with the different IP represented in their parks. My first choice personally would've been Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash. Sure they already have that at Universal Studios Hollywood but I am talking about each of these resorts individually and they don't have that represented here.

I think they should consider more options.. it seems to me that having another Minion ride just would be too repetitive.. Maybe branch out? Just not looking forward to this or the broomstick ride. Definitely don’t think a standing ride will go over well with guests and I can already think of a few problems with it. It would have to be something like an omnimover. Also, I feel like the broomstick ride is a bad idea in general with how fast developments are being made in virtual reality; Would for sure become outdated very quickly unless it is updated often. It just doesn’t sound that exciting.

Honestly, I hope they decided to put the Ministry of Magic in USF instead of Epic Universe. It makes way more sense and would be a better attraction than a VR headset-dependant ride which would rapidly become outdated and probably have nightmarish lines because of the headsets.

I have some concerns with the moving walkway idea. Safely starting and stopping these with people (elderly, kids that want to run around etc) will be very difficult, and maybe impossible to do at any reasonable speed. I've stood on these at aquariums and they are slow.

Secondly, they're just lame. It's not relaxing at all since you're still standing. I'm ok with the Villain con theme, but they should do a trackless vehicle that takes you booth to booth, or integrate a story.

Not to mention, based on these rumors, IT IS ANOTHER SCREEN BASED ATTRACTION. WTF

The Universal Studios Florida park has been truly disappointing me lately. I think they should stop with some of the simulator rides while they are ahead. I will admit, I would like to see a Secret Life of Pets simulator ride since I think it would be very successful, especially since the movie did do so well. But, I think they should start being more innovative and add more coasters. I understand the areas may not be big enough, but they could at least try and make indoor roller coasters if that. I am just truly saddened that they have closed Shrek and it seems to be pointing to a new Minion attraction, which I find to be a very poor choice since they could make it unique and add something that is not in the park now. I think that better quality rides should be built at the park, especially since you do pay so much money for a park ticket and they keep building the same mediocre attractions.

I think a hybrid of interactive booths, meet and greets, and even a large playground area could provide UO with something to offer families with younger children, and allow them to revamp Kid Zone in the future with Pokemon, or any other of the long-rumored replacements for the back half of the park. This needs to be an indoor coaster/dark ride. I just don't know if the building is big enough to accomodate it. They need to get away from the screen/simulator rides. Studios is starting to get grossly outclassed by IOA in terms of overall ride quality. Mummy and Gringotts are the only real homeruns in this park. The remaining rides are either ok or just downright turds (FTF needs to be demolished).

@matt Funnily enough, its the complete opposite. Im a native and trust me Florida is a very stormy state. We always joke it should be know as the Thunderstorm state rather than the Sunshine state because it misleads tourists. Because a vast majority of the rides in Universal are inside rather than outside, Universal Studios tends to do better. The only inside rides at IOA is Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, and Kong, which are pretty boring compared to the other rides they have. Not to mention the fact that Kong and Forbidden Journey breaks down so often and Universal has Mardi Gras and Horror nights

EXACTLY MY POINT! Islands of Adventure surely is ruling over the two parks in both quality and quantity of rides. I think that Universal Studios needs an overhaul. I believe my biggest disappointment is Fast and Furious. Another would be HRRR, as it is starting to become outdated. Hopefully a repaint and re-theme will be coming soon. I do love Universal but the Studios park has just not been up to par as it should be lately, especially for making guests pay for an outrageous ticket price for something that is starting to become mediocre. Hopefully they take the old area from Fear Factor Live and make it some sort of roller coaster! Really would like to see this park receive a facelift..

Ughhh I hate this so much. Whyyy Minions?! One attraction is enough for that franchise. Seriously Universal has been making some pretty bad decisions lately on the Studios side: Fast & Furious, Jimmy Fallon, TWO Minions attractions! 🙄 It’s like Universal Studios gets worse as Islands of Adventure gets better and better lol.

This could’ve easily been turned into the Dreamworks theater from Hollywood Studios or a new theater experience based on the Sing films. Instead it’s another Despicable Me ride literally right next to the original one. I swear to god Universal better think up some new ideas because at this point Universal will just be relegated to their overused IP and Harry Potter

Feels like a waste to me. They can put mazes everywhere. Use that space for the new ride. Why use a big space for only one month out of a year? They have three empty theatres not getting used for that!

Based on these comments, you would think people have already been on the attraction in its finished form. I don't get all the fuss about rumors for an attraction that hasn't even started construction yet. Universal Creative has been moving in a positive direction the past few years and has shown they can do great things.

Not everything needs to be a coaster, and USF needs variety. They probably have great plans for the park, people need to be patient
