Real
Unprocessed Tim Henson Clay Gober Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don′t you think this shit's getting too real?
Don′t you know the terms of your own deal?
Don't you think we both need time to heal?
You don't have a glimpse of how I feel

Try softly
When I let you come near
Get off me
If you don′t know how I hear
Your words echoing in me

You might think those
Are small steps on the way
We′re so close
Your waves are crushing in my bay
You shake me in my dreams

We are blurred
We keep fading, it feels
So absurd
Don't you dare sayin′ a word

We are blurred
We keep fading, it feels
So absurd
Don't you dare sayin′ a word
Don't you dare sayin′ a word
Sayin' a word

Don't you think this shit′s getting too real?
Don′t you know the terms of your own deal?
Don't you think we both need time to heal?
You don′t have a glimpse of how I feel

Don't you think this shit′s getting too real?
Don't you know the terms of your own deal?
Don′t you think we both need time to heal?
You don't have a glimpse of how I feel

We are blurred
We keep fading, it feels
So absurd
Don't you dare sayin′ a word

We are blurred
We keep fading, it feels

So absurd
Don′t you dare sayin' a word

Overall Meaning

The song "Real" by Unprocessed Tim Henson Clay Gober is about the breakdown of a relationship due to the overwhelming nature of reality. The singer is facing the harsh truth that their relationship may not work out, and they are starting to feel suffocated by the weight of their emotions. They are asking their partner to recognize the intensity of the situation and to take things slowly to give them both time to process and heal.

The first verse demonstrates the singer's frustration towards the situation, they feel as though their partner does not understand the gravity of the situation. They need time to heal, but their partner does not seem to be giving them the space they need. The singer is asking their partner to be more considerate of their feelings, to be gentle when they approach them.

The chorus repeats the same message, highlighting the importance of giving each other time and acknowledging the reality of the situation. The second verse implies that their relationship may be reaching a point of no return - they have become emotionally blurred, and the singer no longer knows what to do. They need their partner to understand that sometimes it is better to stay silent and not try to fix things.

Overall, the song "Real" is a poignant mediation on the weight of reality in relationships. It is asking partners to give each other time and to be gentle in their approach to healing. It also offers a warning that sometimes it is better to stay silent and accept the reality that the relationship may be coming to an end.

You guys earned it. Beautiful song. Great melody. That Tim and Clay guy should be in a band, they are pretty good ;)

Metal is my main genre of preference. But i grew up on classic hits from ABBA to CCR. Old school 80s 90s Hip hop was my first real love for music. Playes a guitar and then it was rock and metal. Other genres didnt feel as interesting to play music to. You guys, polyphia, and others that are blending genres with virtuoso playing are bringing more people than you might know into genres that deserve some attention! Thank you for the hard work and amazing song.
