DAYBREAK
Up Front Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song "Daybreak" by Up Front portrays the struggle of the singer trying to find their place in life. They try to analyze and understand every path that is present to them but remain unsure of what key they need to find to set themselves free. The song presents their search for this key as a journey towards daybreak. The metaphor of daybreak itself is symbolic of hope, new beginnings and enlightenment, suggesting that the singer is looking for clarity and a new sense of direction in life.
As the song progresses, the singer realizes that the problem they are facing is not from an external source, but rather deep within their own mind. The mention of the "crack of light" is a representation of a glimmer of hope that the singer has seen in the distance, implying that they are finally starting to find some answers to their struggles. This realization seems to have brought the singer closer to daybreak, as they can now "find and see" it.
Overall, the song is about the journey towards self-discovery and enlightenment. Through their lyrical storytelling and metaphors, Up Front presents the message that sometimes, the key to setting ourselves free lies within our own minds. Only through reflection and deep introspection can we find what we need to move forward in life.
