Come Back To Me
Urban Cone & Tove Lo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

On the subway home
I lost you in a fever
When did we grow old
Million things we done
We never stopped at nothing
When did we grow old

Come, come
Come back to me
Come back to me again
Come, come

Come back to me
Come back to me again
When you gonna
Come, come

Come back to me
Come back to me again
Come, come
Come back to me
Come back to me again

I've been yours for years
And now were back at nothing
When did we grow old
A million ways that I

And only I know you
When did we grow old
When you gonna
Come, come
Come back to me
Come back to me again

Come, come

Come back to me
Come back to me again
Please, won't you take me home?
I don't wanna let you go

Please, wont you take me home?
I don't wanna let you go
When you gonna
Come, come

Come back to me
Come back to me again
When you gonna

Come, come
Come back to me
Come back to me again
When you gonna
Come, come
Come back to me
Come back to me again
When you gonna
Come, come

Come back to me
Come back to me again

Overall Meaning

The song "Come back to me" by Urban Cone and Tove Lo discusses the feeling of growing apart from someone you thought you would always be close to. The lyrics explore the idea that despite spending years with a person and experiencing many things together, there comes a point where one realizes that they have lost something valuable in their relationship. The subway ride home serves as a metaphor for this sense of distance that has grown between the two people.

The chorus of the song expresses a plea for the person who has grown apart to come back. The repetition of "come back to me" in the lyrics serves as a powerful message of how much the singer wants to reconnect with this person. It's as though they are pleading with them to push through the distance and reconnect.

Towards the end of the song, the singer asks to be taken home, stating that they don't want to let this person go. It's a sad but relatable experience; when we lose someone we love, we don't want to let them go without a fight. The song is an emotionally charged expression of this intense desire to reconnect and keep a once-cherished relationship alive.

I'm here not because of Tove Lo, I'm here because Urban Cone is such a great band, and reading comments when people complain that she's not in the video is so painful. Boys done amazing job on this song. Their whole new album is so awesome, and it's kinda sad that people don't see this because Tove Lo doesnt appearing on music video.

@jessicarohwer3542
