Uriah Heep Lyrics

Has just made up my mind
I'm gonna take this chance
And do what's in my heart
You always said that
You'd stand by me
And help me get along
So understand
I know this feeling inside
Has helped me to carry on
So as the days go by
And the nights that never end
You play the clubs
And you play the game
The next day you will find
You'll have to try and
Please that fool again
Don't you know that
Fools play at games
Don't you know that
Fools play at games
And I know that
I'm not afraid of you
Day after day I feel this way
That I need to be moving on
You know I depend on you
Don't get me wrong
I'll throw the dice and
I play the game
And hope we get along
Even then I won't be fooled again
So I've read your words and
I've signed my name
But I can't make up my mind
If you really care or you're
Playing your games
The lyrics of Uriah Heep's song Fools convey a sense of determination and confidence. The singer explains that he has decided to follow his heart and take a chance, even if it means going against the expectations of others. Despite a sense of dependency on someone else, the singer recognizes the need to make his own decisions and not be fooled by their games. The chorus repeatedly emphasizes the idea that fools play at games, and the singer asserts that he is not afraid of the person who he may be challenging with his bold actions.
Throughout the song, the singer suggests that he has been weighed down by a sense of obligation to someone else. He mentions playing at clubs and playing the game, indicating that he has been following a certain path or pattern for some time, likely to the satisfaction of others rather than himself. However, the lyrics suggest that he has had enough of this and wants to move on. He recognizes that he depends on the person he is addressing, but he also states that he will not be fooled again, indicating that he has likely been misled or manipulated in the past.
Overall, the lyrics to Fools suggest a sense of empowerment and a willingness to take a risk. The singer is ready to break free from dependency and do what he believes is best for himself, even if it means challenging someone else's expectations or plans.

I know this feeling inside
I have a deep feeling within me
Has just made up my mind
That has helped me to make a decision
I'm gonna take this chance
I am going to take this opportunity
And do what's in my heart
And follow my heart
You always said that
You always told me
You'd stand by me
That you would support me
And help me get along
And assist me in my journey
So understand
Therefore, comprehend
I must do what's in my heart
I must act according to what I feel inside
Has helped me to carry on
That has enabled me to persevere
So as the days go by
As time passes
And the nights that never end
Even during the long nights
You play the clubs
You perform at the clubs
And you play the game
You play along with the deception
The next day you will find
The following day you'll realize
You'll have to try and
You'll have to attempt to
Please that fool again
Satisfy the foolish person once more
Fools play at games
Unwise people deal with deceitful situations
And I know that
And I am aware
I'm not afraid of you
I am not intimidated by you
Day after day I feel this way
Every day I feel the same
That I need to be moving on
That I need to progress onward
You know I depend on you
You know that I rely on you
Don't get me wrong
Do not misunderstand me
I'll throw the dice and
I'll take the chance and
I play the game
I go along with the deception
And hope we get along
And hope that we can coexist
Even then I won't be fooled again
However, I will not fall for deception once more
So I've read your words and
Therefore, I have read your written communication and
I've signed my name
I have affixed my signature
But I can't make up my mind
However, I cannot decide
If you really care or you're
Whether you genuinely care or you are
Playing your games
Deceiving me for your own benefit
