All too often, they go unsaid
Sometimes it seems this crazy world
It's takin' its toll on you and me, girl
Have I pulled you in tight, gazed into your eyes
Stolen you away, whispered your name, oh baby
Have I told you I love you lately?
Got down on my knees, showed you how I need you baby?
Have I told you I love you lately?
I know, I know it must have been a while
Since I brought on that pretty smile
I know you heard me say these words
Oh but I'm hopin', one more time won't hurt
Have I pulled you in tight, gazed into your eyes
Stolen you away, whispered your name, oh baby
Have I told you I love you lately?
Have I held you in my arms, kissed you in the dark
Got down on my knees, showed you how I need you baby?
Have I told you I love you lately?
Have I pulled you in tight, gazed into your eyes
Stolen you away, whispered your name, oh baby
Have I told you I love you?
Have I held you in my arms, kissed you in the dark
Got down on my knees, showed you how I need you baby?
Have I told you I love you lately?
Have I told you I love you lately?
The lyrics of "You" by VAllEY express a sentiment that is all too familiar in relationships. The song is about the inevitability of life getting in the way of love, and the importance of taking a step back every once in a while to reaffirm the bond between two people. The singer reflects on the many things that are running through his head, but which he had not yet been able to vocalize. The fast-paced, chaotic world that we live in can create a lot of stress and strain, and sometimes it feels as though it is taking a toll on the relationship. However, the singer still manages to ask some profound questions about the nature of love and commitment. Have I pulled you in tight? Gazed into your eyes? Stolen you away? Whispered your name? Have I told you that I love you lately?
The underlying message in "You" is one of love, connection and nurturing. These are qualities that are often taken for granted, but which are truly essential for any relationship to thrive. The song emphasizes the importance of taking the time to cherish our loved ones and to show them that we care. It is a gentle reminder to be present in the moment, to put aside our worries and our fears, and to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. The melody and the vocal delivery are soothing and calming, creating a sense of intimacy that draws the listener in and encourages reflection on the meaning of love.
