Somebody saved my soul on monday
He stopped my car on sunday
Somebody left me under the tree
He cares about me
He put a salt in my coffee
Somebody drifted me in the sea
Somebody cares about my mommy
When i'm watching tv
Heros are going down
Come again and again
They will never see me
I'll never see them
No one can't stop me
To change the channel
No one can't stay between
Me and tv
Me and tv
Finally
Nothing’s gonna change
I'm really
Not arranged
My heart
Beating in your rhythm
Something between
Me and tv
The first verse of "Me & TV" by VFSix starts off with abstract imagery, comparing a grape in the trash to escaping from a crash. This symbolizes something or someone being discarded or overlooked, but finding a way to survive and emerge. The following line, "Just come out, a guess who," suggests the uncertainty and mystery surrounding this emergence. It could refer to a person or an idea that is about to be revealed.
The second verse explores the themes of sleep, awakening, and driving. The lyrics mention a secret code, hinting at hidden meanings or encrypted messages. This could be interpreted as a metaphor for uncovering hidden truths or deciphering complex situations. The line "To make analysis" further supports this idea, suggesting a process of understanding or dissecting something.
The third verse delves into the impact of television, using vivid imagery. The lyrics depict a light flashing, accompanied by swimming and splashing, ultimately drowning the listener in the metaphorical river of eternity. This could represent the addictive and overwhelming nature of television, how it captivates and engulfs individuals, trapping them in an endless cycle.
The fourth verse introduces the concept of fame and its connection to television. It portrays fame as a drug that brings both pleasure and pain. The lyrics mention the advantage of fame, but in an approximate or uncertain way. This could imply that the drawbacks and consequences of fame outweigh its benefits. The repetition of "A super star, Near far, Hale exhale" emphasizes the fleeting nature of fame and the lack of lasting satisfaction or results.
The chorus reflects the influence and impact of others on the singer's life. They express gratitude towards someone who saved their soul and stopped their car on different occasions. The mention of being left under a tree and caring about the singer's mother points to acts of kindness and support. These individuals are contrasted with the presence of television, which also appears to show care and concern. It suggests that television acts as a comforting presence, providing entertainment and distraction.
The final verse conveys a sense of resignation and a lack of change. The lyrics state that nothing will change, indicating a feeling of being stuck or stagnant. The line "My heart beating in your rhythm" suggests a surrender to the influence and control of television. It implies that the singer's emotions and desires align with what they see on television, further emphasizing the entwined relationship between the singer and this medium.
In summary, "Me & TV" explores themes of emergence, hidden meanings, the captivating nature of television, the fleeting nature of fame, and the impact of external influences on an individual's life. Through its lyrical imagery, the song portrays a complex and sometimes ambiguous relationship between the singer and television, ultimately highlighting the powerful influence of media on our lives.
