Intentions
Valeras Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will I ever be enough?
I'll give you every bit of me,
If it makes you stay
That's why I,
Don't want you to lie to me, so
(Ah) tell me what it is you're after
Wish I could push this off the way,
To make you see I try
But you know I can't always find a way
You never seem to care
Never satisfied
Though you know all of my intentions
This ain't our first time
We both know how this will turn around now
You can't manipulate me,
With your little mind games
That's why I,
Don't want you or your forgiveness
(Ah) cos you're not in the best position
Wish I could push this off the way,
To make you see I try
But you know I can't always find a way
You never seem to care
Never satisfied
Though you know all of my intentions
My intentions
My intentions, my intentions
Are you satisfied?
Wish I could push this off the way,
To make you see I try
But you know I can't always find a way
You never seem to care
Never satisfied
Though you know all of my intentions
My intentions
My intentions
The lyrics to Valeras's song "Intentions" explore the theme of a one-sided relationship, where one partner is always trying to please the other, but never seems to be enough. The opening lines of the song set the tone for the rest of the lyrics, as the singer questions whether they are enough for their partner, and expresses a desire to be given a chance to prove themselves. They are willing to give everything they have to make the relationship work, but there is a sense of frustration that no matter how much they try, their partner always seems to be unsatisfied.
The chorus of the song echoes this sentiment, with the singer expressing a wish to push aside the doubts and insecurities that plague their relationship. However, despite their efforts, their partner never seems to care enough, and is never satisfied with what they have. The final lines of the song are a plea for understanding, as the singer asks their partner if they are truly satisfied with what they have, and if they are willing to accept their intentions for what they are.
Overall, "Intentions" is a powerful exploration of the complexities of relationships, and the difficulties that can arise when one partner is always trying to please the other. It is a song that speaks to the universal human desire to be loved and accepted, and the ways in which our own insecurities and doubts can sabotage even the strongest of relationships.
