The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs. Most often on Last.fm, compilation album tracks appear under the name of Various Artists erroneously because the individual artist is not listed in the album's ID3 information.
Compilation albums, for example.
Sometimes, single releases may be credited to Various Artists when their profits are going to charity and, usually in high-profile cases, are sometimes known by a group name. Examples include Band Aid with their releases of Do They Know It's Christmas? and USA for Africa with We Are The World.
Various Artists is also an actual performance name for Torsten Pröfrock, who runs the German DIN label. Torsten performs also as Dynamo, Erosion, Resilent, Traktor besides some others. He's a good friend of Robert Henke and since the Fall of 2004, he is a member of Monolake.
Various Artists was also a short-lived Bristol punk band formed by brothers Jonjo and Robin Key (originally from Birmingham). Other members were also simultaneously in Art Objects who went on to become The Blue Aeroplanes, the latter the Key brothers also co-wrote some songs and were involved in. When Various Artists imploded, the Key brothers went on to form Either / Or.
Various Artists also appear on tracks from musical theater soundtracks, due to the nature of having many cast members on one song, as well as an ensemble in some cases.
BAD
Various Artists Lyrics

Here under the pier tied to Mr. Fischoeder
But looks like Linda will be a widow
Oh, bad things are bad
I fear that my Bob's in a terrible place
Maybe you'll find him inside of this vase
Maybe a lion is eating his face?
Maybe your dad was tied up by a sailor?
I'll help you look after I pump this inhaler
Check out my pants, they are perfectly tailored
Oh, yeah, nice
Thanks
Oh, bad things are bad
Oh, I wish that Bob would come back
I could really use a big snack
Okay, it's not a burger
But I'll just pretend it is and maybe cry
I did what I had to, I have no regrets
I murdered my brother for power and sex
What's this weird feeling inside of my chest?
Why do you keep not looking at my breasts?
Oh, bad things are bad
Farewell, cruel world, looks like I'll die alone
If only you'd purchased a better cell phone
And now I'll never know who wins Game of Thrones
Oh, things are bad!
The lyrics to Various Artists' song Bad may seem random and disjointed, but they actually reference various plot points and jokes from the animated sitcom Bob's Burgers. The first stanza references Linda Belcher, a character from the show, potentially becoming a widow. The second stanza references Bob Belcher, Linda's husband, potentially being trapped in a vase or eaten by a lion. The third stanza references Teddy, a friend of the Belcher family, having perfectly tailored pants and potentially helping to search for Bob. The fourth stanza references a character named Gayle potentially pretending to eat a burger and crying. The fifth stanza references a joke about a character named Louise potentially murdering her brother for power and sex. The final stanza references Linda potentially missing important information due to having a poor cell phone.
The lyrics to Bad were written by Loren Bouchard, the creator of Bob's Burgers, as a way to raise awareness and funds for the organization Rock the Vote during the 2018 US midterm elections. The song was released alongside other tracks by various musicians, each of which interpreted an original Bob's Burgers song for the album The Bob's Burgers Music Album Volume 2.

Holy shit! I know it's a shit track, but you just uploaded what is probably the last singular instance of Felt (I am Roskkouro). Had you not uploaded this it probably would have been lost forever. That means a lot to me as it was basically the first song I ever made using Jeskola Buzztracker! Thank you!
