Remember going to see the Ventures in July of โ€˜65 before shipping out to Vietnam . Got back to the States for good in 1968 and couldnโ€™t believe how the music had changed . Family and friends couldnโ€™t believe how I had changed . Went from being positive and happy to being โ€ฆ just being . Now as an old man I look at all the time I wasted . The Ventures remind me when life was easy and good .

Thank you for your service, veteran. Born in '64, I grew up during a large portion of the Vietnam war, and remember a whole lot of things, and seeing a lot of footage from Vietnam, even though my folks tried to shield me from it. I even had a substitute dad in the army at the time. I never understood then why I never saw him again, but later learned that he never made it back from Vietnam. Through him, I had a taste of what it's like to be an army brat, a little bit. I've always have had the utmost respect for y'all. Again, thank you for your service, and God bless.

These evil greedy lying mongrel politicians are ruining our way of life. I hope to live long enough (Iโ€™m 70yo) to see revenge upon them all, before l die.

Hello BROTHER ๐Ÿ‘‹ 1970 YES IT MOST DEFINITELY CHANGED US

@railscenes4959

Chris I agree 100%. I thought I came back from a year & 1/2 in Vietnam and Okinawa to a different world in January, 1969, in what I thought was the USA. It was a shock.
Then because I had never borrowed money, I couldnโ€™t get a loan to buy a car. So had to save up from my railroad job to buy a car. I was glad a federal law held my job while I was in the U.S. Army.
So in the process of buying an old 1958 Chevy then buying insurance I met my wife. Weโ€™re still together. So thankfully something turned out normal. ๐Ÿคช
