The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs. Most often on Last.fm, compilation album tracks appear under the name of Various Artists erroneously because the individual artist is not listed in the album's ID3 information.
Compilation albums, for example.
Sometimes, single releases may be credited to Various Artists when their profits are going to charity and, usually in high-profile cases, are sometimes known by a group name. Examples include Band Aid with their releases of Do They Know It's Christmas? and USA for Africa with We Are The World.
Various Artists is also an actual performance name for Torsten Pröfrock, who runs the German DIN label. Torsten performs also as Dynamo, Erosion, Resilent, Traktor besides some others. He's a good friend of Robert Henke and since the Fall of 2004, he is a member of Monolake.
Various Artists was also a short-lived Bristol punk band formed by brothers Jonjo and Robin Key (originally from Birmingham). Other members were also simultaneously in Art Objects who went on to become The Blue Aeroplanes, the latter the Key brothers also co-wrote some songs and were involved in. When Various Artists imploded, the Key brothers went on to form Either / Or.
Various Artists also appear on tracks from musical theater soundtracks, due to the nature of having many cast members on one song, as well as an ensemble in some cases.
Grown Up Christmas List
Various Artists Lyrics

Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasys
Well, I'm all grown up now
And still help somehow?
I'm not a child, but my heart still can dream
So here's my life-long wish
Not for myself, but for a world in need
[Chorus:]
No more lives torn apart
That wars will never start
And time will heal our hearts
Every one will have a friend
That right will always win
And love will never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
[Verse 2:]
May kindness rule our lives
Not just the strong survive
Sweet tears for all the thousand years gone by
This is the world I pray
We will all share someday
Help me begin by reaching out my hand
[Chorus:]
No more lives torn apart
That wars will never start
And time will heal our hearts
Every one will have a friend
That right will always win
And love will never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
[Verse 3:]
What is this illusion called
The innocence of youth
Maybe only in that blind belief can we ever find the truth
[Chorus:]
No more lives torn apart
That wars will never start
And time will heal our hearts
Every one will have a friend
That right will always win
And love will never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
This is the year I hope you hear
This is my grown up Christmas list
Ooh......
Christmas list......
The lyrics of "Grown Up Christmas List" by Various Artists express a mature and thoughtful reflection on the holiday season, shifting away from materialistic desires to deeper, more altruistic wishes. In the first verse, the singer reminisces on their childhood innocence when they used to write to Santa with dreams and wishes. However, with the passage of time, they have grown up but still retain the ability to dream and hope for a better world. Their plea is not for personal gain but for the collective well-being of humanity.
The chorus serves as a poignant reminder of the universal longing for peace and love. The singer yearns for an end to the suffering caused by wars, the healing of broken hearts, and the presence of friendship and justice in every corner of the world. The idealistic vision presented in these lines captures the essence of Christmas—a time for harmony, compassion, and unity among all people. The refrain emphasizes the enduring power of love and the belief that it can triumph over adversity.
In the second verse, the lyrics call for kindness to govern our actions and for empathy to extend to all individuals, not just the ones deemed strong or worthy. The mention of tears shed for the past centuries suggests a recognition of historical pain and a desire for a future free from such suffering. The singer envisions a world where sharing, compassion, and connection become the norm, and they pledge to take the first step by offering a helping hand to others.
The final verse contemplates the concept of innocence and the quest for truth that lies within it. The lyrics question the nature of youth's idealism and wonder if perhaps it is through that same unwavering belief in goodness that we can uncover the ultimate truths of existence. The song culminates with a reiterated plea for a world devoid of conflict, where love prevails eternally, reinforcing the message of hope, resilience, and unity that defines the essence of a grown-up Christmas list.

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child but my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself but for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list
As children we believe
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely wrapped beneath the tree
But Heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal a hurting human soul
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, no
This is my grown up Christmas list
This is my only lifelong wish
This is my grown up Christmas list

Wow!! This “My Grown up Christmas List” is it.… This is it…!
It’s the greatest Christmas Song of the 21st Century Modern World of Christmas Music that captures & embraces the Central Thematic Wish(-es) of every human being on Earth: Unity of Mankind and True World Peace at the core of humanity: Truth, Beauty & Goodness.
Hence, all these global human wishes, such as:
1. No more lives torn apart … (no more broken families!, etc…);
2. That wars would never start: that right there in every heart of each human being: these wars, big & small, covering all types of human mis-understandings, conflicts, etc., passing through & transcending Religions, Races, Peoples, Nations & Cultures in that these all wars, conflicts, etc., would have melted to Zero inside every man’s heart to give way to human understanding and KNOW that all humanity belongs to One Global Human Family of One True United Nations Family; then,
3. Time would heal all hearts: that means, where our heart is – is where each human being, a true human being on Earth lives & knows he has responsibility to make this world a HOME for everyone to live: no more cries, no more hatred; no more sufferings … that’s what GOD expects us to be: use our HEART to deal with each one, everyone on Earth so that everyone is respected in Truth, Beauty & Goodness/Kindness (Values of Human Life) to achieve understanding, compassion, justice & unity. We can never solve all human problems on Earth unless we all know deep in our hearts that GOD ever exists in our hearts. When GOD exists at the core of our Human Hearts, in all our Human Hearts, then, nothing is impossible; then we can build bridges to connect all Nations to finally build True World Peace on Earth.
4. Every man would have a friend: this simply implies that we all humanity becomes friends to all that make the true brothers and sisters for all men – no more racial discriminations; this brings us all back to No. 2 above.
5. That right [that which is truth, beauty & goodness constituting the correctness, proper, and unpretentious (honest)] would WIN over fake, false, wrong – always.
6. And love would never end …: All marriages will last a lifetime on Earth. No more breakdown(s) of hearts – all is True Love that lasts a lifetime of living together as true families of true human beings to live in true joy, true happiness on Earth.
The SONG of Christmas Wishes as One List is wished NOT for oneself but for all humanity, for the World that needs those Wishes & realize them all at the core of every human life on Earth
* How I wish (My Christmas Wish of all time on Earth…) that I am NOW singing it – with the accompaniment of our Angels of GOD above in Heavens singing it w/ love … for each and everyone of you; to all humanity on Earth so that -
Each Nation of all Member Nations of the Unted Nations does: acknowledge, live so, and believe so with GOD existing in each of their hearts at the core of all hearts of men to live in true love, true life & true family of humanity – finally as One United Nations Family
Thank you: David Foster & Linda Thompson. GOD keep us all SAFE, pls -

If only people knew that all this is found in Jesus <3
"No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end."
May people find The Truth in Him. He puts a hunger and thirst for Him in every human heart as Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
Thank You Jesus that this is all true in You <3

Omg you are playing the song I asked you to sing. I'm literally crying happy tears right now. You see this song I play all year long. It's a song that makes me smile. When you are disabled and hurt 24/7 you are stuck inside day after day for the last 2 years I probably have been outside maybe 20 times for doctor appointments and surgeries. The rest of the time I'm bedridden somedays and other days I'm able to fix my dinner then have to lay down because of spasms. My back is in the shape of the letter C now and my neck is messed up my chin sits on my chest. Not a fun life to live but I'm always grateful to be here just the way I am. Why I have all this throughout my life I will never know. Just know I am strong and I don't know how many days I have left but will spend everyday I can with a smile on my face listening to your beautiful music. God bless both of you ❤ 🙏
