[Bree:]
After my operation not even a gynecologist will be able to detect anything out of the ordinary about my body.
I will be a woman.
Don't you find it odd that plastic surgery can cure a mental disorder?

Line by Line Meaning

At first, I was afraid, I was petrified
Initially, I was scared and paralyzed

Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
I believed I couldn't survive without you supporting me

But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
Eventually, I spent numerous nights pondering about how you mistreated me

And I grew strong
I became resilient

And I learned how to get along
I discovered how to manage on my own

And so you're back from outer space
Now, you've returned from wherever you were

I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
As soon as I came in, I saw you with a gloomy expression

I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
I should have altered the lock and required you to surrender your key

If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
If I had foreseen that you'd return to inconvenience me

Go on now, go, walk out the door
Go away, leave, and don't come back

Just turn around now, 'cause you're not welcome anymore
Face the other way because I no longer want you here

Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
Weren't you the one who attempted to wound me by leaving?

Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Did you believe I'd collapse and concede?

Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh no, I will endure and thrive

As long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
As long as I can express love, I'll continue to live

I've got all my life to live, I've got all my love to give
I possess a whole lifetime to exist, I possess a whole lot of love to offer

And I'll survive
And I'll survive

I will survive
I will endure and survive

Acabo de ver en Netflix el Documental de "We ar the world" y recordé mi niñez. Yo tenía como 12 años cuando salió la canción, primero la de We ar the world y al poco tiempo, la de español. Me encantan las dos.
