The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs. Most often on Last.fm, compilation album tracks appear under the name of Various Artists erroneously because the individual artist is not listed in the album's ID3 information.

Sometimes, single releases may be credited to Various Artists when their profits are going to charity and, usually in high-profile cases, are sometimes known by a group name. Examples include Band Aid with their releases of Do They Know It's Christmas? and USA for Africa with We Are The World.
Various Artists is also an actual performance name for Torsten Pröfrock, who runs the German DIN label. Torsten performs also as Dynamo, Erosion, Resilent, Traktor besides some others. He's a good friend of Robert Henke and since the Fall of 2004, he is a member of Monolake.
Various Artists was also a short-lived Bristol punk band formed by brothers Jonjo and Robin Key (originally from Birmingham). Other members were also simultaneously in Art Objects who went on to become The Blue Aeroplanes, the latter the Key brothers also co-wrote some songs and were involved in. When Various Artists imploded, the Key brothers went on to form Either / Or.
Various Artists also appear on tracks from musical theater soundtracks, due to the nature of having many cast members on one song, as well as an ensemble in some cases.

2 reasons to why i love this great brilliant song.
Reason number 1 one.
A very nice beautiful woman with a true heart of gold.
Reason number 2 two.
What a fantastic singing voice.
So then to all of those who don't like great true real talent.
Just what is there not to like.
You see this is what songs are about and have meaning and purpose.
There's no head screaming shouting trash garbage rubbish rap crap shouting jumping about on stage.
That what does and without fail or doubt guaranteed to cause deafness and serious damage harm to the ears and also the lungs.
And many who listen to that have shown and proven there lungs and ears mean nothing to them at all.
They think they are super indestructible invincible and nothing won't happen.
If that's true then tell me why many youngsters have gone deaf well before they even reach into there adult old age and why they have very sore lungs.
Why any singers who can't sing without always screaming there lyrics have no longer got a normal talking voice control.
Believe it or not all of that head banging shouting screaming on stage does serious damage and harm to there inside of there heart, spirit, soul, mind,
Nothing good won't ever come from that.
It's damage and destruction to many.
It's noise disturbing and many will hurt harm and suffer from it.
There's no quietness at all. It destroys and damages quietness.
It's way out of control. It's way beyond loud noice.
Many of us don't mind loud but never way beyond loud. It's music blasting.
Understand what real true easy listening music is and means with calm and peace for our heart, mind spirit soul.
This song does that without fail or doubt guaranteed as many other great brilliant songs.
