Lyrics

English translation:

I am going to walk for a very long time,
and I'm leaving to find fists which draw themselves again,
I'm going to look without shame,
For the blows which hit me,
For easy violence.

I am going to be walking all the time,
And I'm leaving to force the aggressive stares.
I always go to the front,
I can't wait to find
Easy violence

It's
Christmas in May, I didn't drink anything
Bottom of the building, you didn't see anything
When I come forward, furious,
with my leash off*, pale lips

Draw the birds to me,
The dried blood on my skin,
The guys laughing out of fear that,
my boxing illness* will hit the mark.

I am going to walk for a very long time,
and I'm leaving to find fists which draw themselves again,
I'm going to look without shame,
For the blows which hit me,
For easy violence.

I am going to be walking all the time,
And I'm leaving to force the aggressive looks.
I always go to the front,
I can't wait to find
Easy violence

It's clear ideas that I'm waiting for,
A mallow flower emerges on the temples,
Solitude is perfect, when it hits you,
nobody cries.

Morning fever, new air,
I'm done, I'm going to let them go.
Oh, the wounds, they're gone now, I've known worse,
I've known shame.

I am going to walk for a very long time,
and I'm leaving to find fists which draw themselves again,
I'm going to look without shame,
For the blows which hit me,
For easy violence.

I am going to be walking all the time,
And I'm leaving to force the aggressive looks.
I always go to the front,
I can't wait to find
Easy violence

Original:

Bas de l'immeuble, t'as rien vu
Quand moi j'avance furieuse

This is a deeply personal song by the famous singer/songwriter/producer/dancer extraordinaire "Chris". She's a self described pansexual. No doubt had much strife during adolescence. She's an amazing performer. Too bad the translation was not good...but it is my extreme pleasure as a French student to translate her song The Walker.
La Marcheuse

I had walked a very long time,
And I'm going to find the fists that redraw.
I shamelessly seek the blows struck on me, easy violence.

I had walked all the times
And I am going to force aggressive looks
I always looked forward to it,
I'll look forward to easy violence.

It's Christmas in May, I drank nothing,
Bottom of the building..
You saw nothing, when I advance furious, all flushed, the lips pale.

Draw the birds to me, the dried blood on my skin,
The people smile for fear that my boxing disease might lend itself.

I had walked a very long time,
And I'm going to find the fists that redraw.
I shamelessly seek the blows struck on me, easy violence.

I had walked all the times
And I am going to force aggressive looks
I always looked forward to it,
I'll look forward to easy violence.

It's the clear ideas that I'm waiting for,
A mauve emerges on time
Solitude is perfect
When it hits there's nobody that cries.

Fever in the morning, new air
I'm done, I'm going to stop hurting.
Ah the wound, it's nothing
I know worse, I have known shame.
I had walked a very long time,
And I'm going to find the fists that redraw.
I shamelessly seek the blows struck on me, easy violence.

I had walked all the times
And I am going to force aggressive looks
I always looked forward to it,
I'll look forward to easy violence.

The French do not construct sentences the same as the English. Mauve is the color..purple, which suggests the face had turned an angry color.
She is angry and ready to fight those who hurt her. There is pent up anger. She's put up with enough, and now she's past that, ready. In her heart she cannot kill but neither will she be hurt by the blows any more. The bullfighter and the bull are metaphors.
In her video she is in Spain, dressed as the matador walking in a tiny nearly vacated village and the bull enters. You have to see her video to understand the story being conveyed.

Can't even think of another country artist who would even attempt to do this. Brilliant.

Of all the songs you could've covered, you chose one of the best French artists of today & you chose to sing in French, which is NOT easy! So, wow, consider me impressed! You sang beautifully!

@ealex1349

Cam used to to sing in many different languages (I think like 14!) with a Choir in her youth in high school so she can sing in various languages - she needs to come with a second album ASAP! #WeMissYouCam XOXO

@samsara678

@@ealex1349 I didn't know that! We need a new album for sure!

@lonniegiroux2407

Are there more French songs? I’d love to hear more!

@dirttrackart

I don't understand a word, but this sounds so beautiful

@esequindoves3080

The lyrics of this song are so moving. She did an English version... I mean Christine and the Queens did. Worth checking out.

@WilliamPorterTech

Yes, it's a heart-rendingly beautiful song and great performance by Cam. But do yourself a favor and look for a translation of the lyrics. It's twice as moving if you know what's being said. It's loaded with pain and courage. Quite a remarkable song.

@missysimpson4630

I’m so in love with this song. I think I’ve listened to it almost every day since she released it. I listen to Christine and the Queens now because of this too. 💕
