The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs. Most often on Last.fm, compilation album tracks appear under the name of Various Artists erroneously because the individual artist is not listed in the album's ID3 information.
Compilation albums, for example.
Sometimes, single releases may be credited to Various Artists when their profits are going to charity and, usually in high-profile cases, are sometimes known by a group name. Examples include Band Aid with their releases of Do They Know It's Christmas? and USA for Africa with We Are The World.
Various Artists is also an actual performance name for Torsten Pröfrock, who runs the German DIN label. Torsten performs also as Dynamo, Erosion, Resilent, Traktor besides some others. He's a good friend of Robert Henke and since the Fall of 2004, he is a member of Monolake.
Various Artists was also a short-lived Bristol punk band formed by brothers Jonjo and Robin Key (originally from Birmingham). Other members were also simultaneously in Art Objects who went on to become The Blue Aeroplanes, the latter the Key brothers also co-wrote some songs and were involved in. When Various Artists imploded, the Key brothers went on to form Either / Or.
Various Artists also appear on tracks from musical theater soundtracks, due to the nature of having many cast members on one song, as well as an ensemble in some cases.

Those of you who are thinking about watching the Magpul series on training I HIGHLY recommend you find a certified firearm training facility and sign up as well. Watching is one thing, going out and trying these skills by yourself is another but training with a group of people in live fire scenarios under stress is a whole other level. There are simply some life saving things you can't learn without the right training. And to note, these videos are first class. I highly recommend them for those who are serious about owning a firearm and being an asset, and not a liability. Â Â

That's true

These guys started it. People sit there and talk shit about these guys, but they are the first group of guys that commericalized combat handgun training to the public.
To get training like this back then you'll have to be either LEO, tier military unit, or CIA. Their curriculum and techniques taught have worked it's way into basic LEO, military, and Federal academy training now.
It was almost unheard of for civilians to do the things these guys did on a range, unless your a comp shooter.
@MrPONCHO467
I totally agree with you, most of if not all of the keyboard critics couldn't shoot half as well as either of them

Not knocking Magpul, but they would be the first to tell you that Gunsite (started as the American Pistol Institute in 1976), Lethal Force Institute (1981), Thunder Ranch, and Frontsite (yeah, I know) came way before Magpul’s founder even joined the Marines. Magpul training division started as a response to the growing trends in post-11SEP2001 contractors, LEOs, and military personnel seeking practical training solutions from guys with extensive shooting backgrounds. There were also tons of videos on VHS back in the day on practical shooting, so the audio-visual marketplace was well-established. I think Magpul just took things to a new level by leveraging YouTube clips for their courses and DVDs, which really helped increase their exposure to their target markets. The old guard had already built their reputations and have been filling courses regularly over the past 4 decades. Magpul found more modern media avenues to start and expand their brand, while also innovating a large inventory of firearms products and accessories.

Costa never did anything. Haley shot a few brown people on a roof once. He’s a hack too.

I wish the music in this video was the soundtrack to my life. And everytime I'm feeling down, Chris and Travis's pep talks get me goin.

What he meant by "Pros train until they get it wrong" is easily misconstrued if you haven't heard it in the correct context on the DVD. The point he was making is that when you train until you get it wrong, you've reached your point of failure. Only when you reach that point of failure can you identify where you are lacking, remedy the problem, and push past that particular failure point. Thus, increasing your level of skill.
