You Raise Me Up
Various Artists Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up… To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up… To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up… To more than I can be. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up… To more than I can be.

One of my cousins favourite songs, who passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. She fought every day. Until god said it was enough pain for one person, gave her wings, and she flew away 😭🥺

My sincere condolences for your loss. You must’ve been close with her. I can hear the love and grief in your words. She’s with Our Father where she’s now safe from pain and sorrow. I’ve found comfort in that knowledge over the years. I too, lost a special Child of GOD, who like your dear, sweet cousin, was also in great pain and suffering. They’re free now and at peace for eternity. The World we know isn’t a kind place but where they are, it’s bliss. Love in Christ 🙏
