Where do I begin? First, Bobby Pickett is a Genus! His facial expressions and imitations bring the song to a whole other level. Second, he made a song for Halloween opening up an entire new genre of both dark rides and Theatrics like Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath. One night my Band was playing this song. I was the Drummer and backup Vocalist. My Neighbor, the Executive Vice President of the Ct Affiliate of the AHA at the time walked in to listen. When we finished he informed us that he went to Brown University with Bobby Pickett! He said we honored Bobby. i was blown away! I still am to this day and periodically I watch Bobby perform this song just to lift my spirits and take me back to that day in 1986.

My wife was born in another country and today I introduced her to "The Monster Mash" here on YouTube, she listened to the song and she had a big smile.
What had happened this morning was I had found myself singing a verse of the Mash right outloud and I wondered if my wife was familiar with this song. A few years ago Hallmark, normally famous for it's Christmas ornaments, released a three piece Monster Mash set, with Dracula on organ, Frankenstein's monster on guitar, and Wolfman on drums. When plugged into the correct power cord, all three would light up. Each a had a button on the back. If you pushed the button on Dracula, for example, they would play the Monster Mash song with Dracula as the lead singer. You could do the same with the other two as well. With all three characters plugged into the same power cord, they would light up in coordinated patterns as the song played.
I usually put these up as decorations on my window sill for the Halloween season every year, along with three other power cord light up Hallmark Halloween ornaments. I wish Hallmark would make more power cord ornaments for Halloween, but I guess there just isn't enough commercial interest.

I was born in 1968. But when I first heard this song when I was a kid. This song was totally awesome. This song makes Halloween what it really is. And this song will always be the as one for Halloween. Bobby Pickett you are awesome. Even to this day in 2022. Happy Halloween
