When we saw him in concert he sang Rubber Ball and threw 2 or 3 beach balls into the audience. My wife caught one and at the end of the concert went to the front of the stage and Bobby came to her and signed it writing "like a rubber ball....." She treasures it. Lovely singer and sadly missed.

My daughter was 4 years old and she fell in love with him. He played 2 shows at the Colorado state fair 1987 for 4 days. She wanted to go to both his shows everyday. Last day his first show I went up to the stage at the end of his second show he would give her a picture signed. She stood next the the stage danced every time. We went and the the end we followed him back to the trailer. He came back and said they ran out so he gave her one of his personal photo of him and his daughter. Super awesome of him. We was a great performer.

I recall so vividly dancing & bouncing to this song, when I danced my Rock n Roll Jive Gold Medal Exam in 1965 , frilly skirt & the works . Now in my 70's my body is breaking down & failing me . I don't have self pity or sorrow, however I do have the wonderful memories as I sit & re-live with love & happiness those wonderful days of wonderful music & the bestest songs ever.. My grandpa used to play this everyday driving me and my siblings to school, and he would quote Bobby on the daily. Even some of his other songs too. Unfortunately my grandpa passed away in 2018, hopefully Bobby and him are just having so many concerts together!

I’m 20 years old and I hold this song close to my heart. As I sit next to my grandpa on his death bed I remember how me and him would go golf every weekend every summer. Every morning me and him would turn the radio in his 94 impala SS and hope and pray that rubber ball would be playing. Anytime it played we knew it was going to be a great day.

My grandpa has taught me so much about the world, golf, and how things were back when he was growing up. As I sit here I played this song for him to maybe have some good memories in his final days. Love you papa ❤

Yes, it is terrible news. He also did "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes" (1963), which is really good. In addition, Vee performed a tribute to the late Buddy Holly with "Buddy's Song' (1963).

My oldest sister had this record and I liked it. I was just a kid then and there were some great songs that were on the radio back then. My brother had a very large AM radio and we listened to radio stations from all over the US. Back then they had Superstations that would carry to our house in MO from San Antonio, TX, and Pittsburg, PA.
