Seems Like Old Times
Vaughn Monroe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Seems like old times, having you to walk with
Seems like old times, having you to talk with
And it's still a thrill just to have my arms around you
Still the thrill that it was the day I found you
Seems like old times, dinner dates and flowers
Seems like old times, staying up for hours
Making dreams come true, doing things we used to do
Seems like old times, being here with you

Seems like old times, dinner dates and flowers
Just like old times, staying up for hours
Making dreams come true, doing things we used to do

Seems like old times, just like old times
Seems like old times, being here with you

Trombonology Erstwhile

I love this record -- I've always preferred Vaughn's version to the Lombardo treatment, despite the fact that Carmen had co-authorship of this great song, one of my favorites. The images is the lyrics are very vivid and irresistible, and Vaughn's vocal brings them into still sharper focus.

When I was in middle school, the school closed-circuit tv filmed an episode with me, displaying my 78 rpm record collection. The video ended with the closing part of this recording!
