Cry No More
Vaults Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And the distance grows

[Chorus]
And I don't wanna cry no more
And I don't wanna die a little more, every day
And I don't wanna cry no more
And I don't wanna die a little more, every day
To pull yourself from harm
To be the braver one

To raise a weary heart
In a house that

Overall Meaning

feels like home

The lyrics of "Vaults" by Vaults describe a feeling of emotional exhaustion and the desire to break free from it. The lines, "And the distance grows" suggest a growing gap between two individuals, perhaps due to a lack of communication or efforts to bridge that gap. The chorus repeats the desire to stop crying and dying a little more each day, which could imply a struggle with depression or mental health issues. The lines about trying to pull oneself from harm and being the braver one suggest a sense of self-reliance, as though the singer feels they must be strong on their own. Finally, the mention of a house that feels like home leaves room for interpretation, as it could either be a comforting presence or a stifling one, depending on the individual's circumstances.

Ophelia Leonidas please no. Not every mermaid story needs to have her falling in love with the dude. The whole portrayal of Ryn learning human emotions, the difference between good and bad, as well as her evolution to find Ben and Maddie as her friends instead of romance is a much more profound way to have empathy and relate. Especially if you've been abused or outcast.

The first moments I heard this playing soft n' low in the background of Siren I knew I'd have to track it down n' find it. So when it came back at the end so powerfully and beautifully, I was extra happy, 'cause I knew the likelihood of finding it had gone that much more (since it played a part of prominence). This is beauuutiful! Love the instrumentation and lovely vocals!
