Children of Our Mistakes
Vayden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For she'll use those eyes as tractor beams
To keep you down to earth when your
Trying to take off.
Break Free
From the world's wicked lies
For they'll pass them off as scripture and Hold you in contempt when you
Question the faith
Don't let them in or they'll find out who we are
Don't break the skin oh they're dying to tear us apart
Break Free
From your need to explode
There's only a few things we can control in this life
But as minute as they seem they are
The hinges that change the world
Break Free
From your need to Control
Well the world will throw it's weight on you
Just burn it up like a cigarette
And throw it all away
And they burn and they brun and they burn and they burn and they
Burden me
We learn and we learn and we learn and we learn that we're
Murdering
And we can prey to, we can prey to, we can prey to, we can prey to
Break free
Prey for the children of our mistakes
The lyrics in Vayden's song Children of Our Mistakes suggest breaking free from different kinds of external and internal pressures. The first two stanzas urge listeners to break free from an individual's gaze and the wicked lies of the world. These could symbolize societal standards and expectations or even individual relationships that bring negative influence. The lyrics warn that these things will hold people down and discourage them from taking risks.
The following two stanzas encourage breaking free from the need to explode and the need to control things. The line "There's only a few things we can control in this life" suggests that the song's message is about accepting things that cannot be changed and focusing instead on the little things that can make a difference. The song suggests that it is the small, mundane things that can help change the world.
The last stanza is a plea to pray for the children of our mistakes, which could represent future generations, as the actions of previous generations will have an impact on the world. Overall, the song encourages listeners to break free from societal pressure, negative influences, and the desire to control everything and instead focus on the things that can be changed.
