Wasted
Venice Maki Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The mistake has come and gone, still someone's there breathing
Down your every move. You've lost your mind, it's now confused
Haven't slept enough in several days.
I'm wide awake, I smell perfume. Have you eatin yet

You still have to answer, are you wasted
Teacher, are you out there, preacher
Now you seem so high today I'm not quite there
To leave the dream to drown right here
You've lost your mind, it's now confused haven't slept enough in several days
I'm wide awake, I smell perfume. Have you eatin yet

You still have to answer, are you wasted
Teacher, are you out there, preacher

No one will break me

You still have to answer, are you wasted
Teacher, are you out there, preacher
No one will break me
Oh, what to do?

Are you wasted Preacher
Don't you care for me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Venice Maki's song Wasted are rather straightforward and tell the story of a person who seems to have lost their way in life, possibly due to substance abuse. The opening lines allude to a mistake that was made in the past that still weighs heavily on the person's mind, as they feel like someone is constantly watching and judging their every move. The person's mental state is also troubled, as they admit to not having slept enough in several days, and feeling confused and lost.

The chorus of the song asks the question "Are you wasted?" to both a teacher and a preacher, which suggests that the person is seeking guidance and answers to some of life's bigger questions from these authority figures, but they also recognize that these people may not have all the answers or be able to solve their problems. The second verse seems to imply that the person is in a better mood than before, as they mention that someone else seems "so high today", but they themselves are not quite there yet.

The outro of the song continues to ask the question "Are you wasted?" and adds the plea "Don't you care for me?", which reinforces the idea that the person is looking for someone to care for them and help them navigate their troubles.

Overall, the lyrics of Wasted tell a story of someone struggling with their mental and emotional state, and seeking guidance from authority figures, but still feeling lost and unsure of how to move forward.

300k is nothing but keep in mind that that role was what opened so many doors for her, and she knew that. Those opportunities and that much attention are priceless

@Handlebrake2

Lol, 300k is nothing to you?

Is nothing?? To them you mean?? Or are you just rich af

@ayla8345

@@kemj9 to them. This movie took almost a year to film. Naomi was one of the most important characters. They made so much money with that movie, so considering all those factors, it is not a lot of money. You can’t buy a house with that kind of money for example. It would be a lot of money for me, but again, not life changing money since I wouldn’t be able to afford a house. You can’t live off of 300k for the rest of your life. That money is gone quicker than you’d think.
