Ventilader comes as a solid and coherent concept. They accomplish a perfect balance between traditional instruments and programming. From different corners of Mexico, this power trio begins it’s history on September of 2004, when Jorge Marrón, originally from Acapulco, meets Mercy after seeing him play the drums at a local bar of his home town in Monterrey. Both of them decide to travel to Mexico City in search of new platforms. This is the place where they find Chamin, the bass player that finally complements their sound.
With their new albumápice, Ventilader delivers 9 songs that combine electronic textures with a sutil pop sensibility, coming altogether in a nostalgic tone. Their lyrics both in Spanish and English have a distinctive place in the composition, using the language’s unique phonetic qualities to deliver a message and create a new sonic atmosphere.

Siempre desde los arboles se miraban
Solo con el podías hablar
Solo con el podías llorar
Ahora es un hueso enterrado
Olvidado... Olvidado...
¿Te acuerdas cuando hablaban de la muerte?
Decían que era un futuro interminable
¿Te acuerdas cuando se convertían en dioses?
Decían que nada los iba a separar
Ahora es un hueso enterrado
Olvidado... Olvidado...
Miércoles de ceniza... Miércoles de ceniza...
Olvidado... Olvidado...
Miércoles de ceniza... Miércoles de ceniza...
The lyrics of Ventilader's song Miercoles De Ceniza are a poignant reflection on the fleeting nature of life and the inevitability of death. The singer asks the listener if they remember when they used to play with someone and how they used to look at each other from the trees. This indicates a sense of innocence and purity in their relationship that has been lost. The person they used to confide in and cry with is now nothing but a buried bone, forgotten and left buried in the ground.
The lyrics then move on to talk about how the two of them used to talk about death and how they believed it to be an endless future. But now that death has come, where can the singer find their old companion? The lyrics suggest a sense of loss and loneliness that the singer is feeling, now that death has taken away their friend.
The lyrics also touch upon the idea of immortality and how the two of them used to talk about becoming gods and that nothing could ever separate them. But the reality of death has shattered these illusions, leaving behind nothing but the memory of what once was. Overall, the lyrics of Miercoles De Ceniza are a reminder of the fragility of life and the need to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones before they become nothing but a distant memory.
