Viagra Boys formed in 2015 in Stockholm, Sweden. Tattoo artists Henrik Höckert and Sebastian Murphy (the latter born in San Francisco but living in Stockholm) met through a mutual acquaintance and went out for a night of drinking. The two ended up at a karaoke bar, and after hearing Murphy belt out a unique version of Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," Höckert decided they needed to form a band. With Murphy on lead vocals and Höckert on bass, they recruited guitarist Benjamin Vallé, who had previously worked with Höckert in the group Nitad. With the addition of drummer Sol Tor Sjödén, the core of the group was complete and they began writing songs.
By the time Viagra Boys started playing out in June 2015, they'd added Oskar Karls on sax and producer Martin Ehrencrona on keyboards. By 2016, they decided it was time to document their music, and they cut a four-song EP, Consistency of Energy, issued by Kosmos Recordings. The Push My Buttons label brought out their second record, the 2017 EP Call of the Wild, but for their first full-length album, 2018's Street Worms, they signed with Year0001 Records, putting them on the same label as Swedish rapper Yung Lean. If the band was uncomfortable with the association, they didn't show it, and Street Worms got enthusiastic reviews while the tracks "Sports" and "Just Like You" earned enough streaming plays and video views to raise their following beyond the underground. Viagra Boys' unpredictable live show was documented on a 2019 concert recording, Shrimp Sessions, that was released only in Japan. In April 2020, Viagra Boys were back with their first studio recordings since Street Worms, a forceful four-song EP titled Common Sense. This was followed in January 2021 by Welfare Jazz, their chaotic and subversively satirical sophomore full-length.

When you showed up in the scene
Ah you can tell they sensed something paranormal
But their faces showed disbelief
That there could be an amphibian
Ah listening in on your plan
How did it slip by undetected?
There's nothing that gets by our man
And it could breathe through its skin
But how the hell could a tetrapod
Be able to blend in?
Frogstrap!
Infiltrator
In you jacket
Oh, it's a traitor
And then the man with the red hat
He put his hands to his ears
He said he heard a faint heartbeat
Said the impostor was near
You weren't afraid of suspicions
You knew the frog wouldn't croak
They didn't know you had a frog strap
Hidden underneath your coat
Frogstrap!
I-I-I-Infiltrator
In your jacket
Oh, it's a traitor
D-d-don't show up on no radar
Well I'm aware of your secret
When you showed up in the scene
Ah you can tell they sensed something paranormal
But their faces showed disbelief
That there could be an amphibian
Ah listening in on your plan
How did it slip by undetected?
There's nothing that gets by our man
Unless there was an endothermic being
And it could breathe through its skin
But how the hell could a tetrapod
Be able to blend in?
Frogstrap!
Infiltrator
Cold blood
D-d-d-don't show up on no radar
It don't show up, man
Ain't no frogs showing up on your radar
No!
Don't! Don't! Don't!
Don't! Don't show up on no
It don't show up on no

The song "Frogstrap" by Viagra Boys is a humorous take on the idea of an individual who is able to sneak in undetected, disguised as a frog. The lyrics describe the confusion and disbelief of those who have encountered this "amphibian" infiltrator, as well as the singer's confidence in his clever disguise. The use of the term "Frogstrap" implies that the singer has incorporated a frog-like accessory - perhaps a belt or strap - into his outfit in order to convince those around him that he is, in fact, a frog.
The lyrics also suggest a hint of danger, as the singer is compared to an endothermic being that can breathe through its skin. The use of the term "traitor" implies that the singer has a hidden motive that goes against the interests of those around him. However, the humor and absurdity of the situation make it difficult to take the potential danger seriously.
Overall, "Frogstrap" is a satirical and tongue-in-cheek exploration of the idea of disguise and deception.
