Mouth
Vicious Rumors Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Lyrics & Music: G. Thorpe, C. Albert)
You got the power with that tongue
To break a man down bring him up again
All that you got is not enough
To satisfy the hunger of that Mouth
You want me to be more like you
I am what I am and that's ok
I'm coming for you and...
That mouth
Oh that mouth
Up your mouth
Shut your mouth
Horror and pain... shock me again
Don't misunderstand me everyone wants the girl
Just when I thought I'd seen it all
Sisters... gushers... bring it on... mouth
Make me crazy over you
I can't get away or look away
I'm comlng to you and...
>From behind I work my way up
One taste of your lips and I gotta have
that mouth
Horror... you're driving me insane
And pain... you give it over again

Shock me... you shock me one more time
Again... again with that mouth

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Vicious Rumor’s song “Mouth” appear to be about a alluring and potent woman who can both build up and tear down men with her words. The “power” of her tongue can satisfy and satisfy their desires, but also dominate and control. The singer seems both attracted to and wary of this woman, and suggests that she “shocks” and “drives him insane”. However, he is still obsessed with her and cannot resist her “mouth”. The lyrics also include hints of violence and horror, suggesting that the woman’s power is not necessarily benevolent or kind.

One interesting aspect of this song is the band’s unique blend of thrash metal and emotional, almost poetic lyrics. The mixture of aggressive guitar riffs and sensitive, thoughtful words helped set Vicious Rumors apart from other metal bands of their era. Another interesting fact is that the song was not one of the band’s biggest commercial hits, but has remained a favorite among metal fans for its dark, atmospheric tone. Some have even compared the song to classic horror movies, with its haunting, unsettling lyrics.

Another possible interpretation of the lyrics is that they address the power of language and its ability to control and manipulate others. The woman’s “mouth” could represent the power of speech, and the singer could be seen as a victim of her words. The lyrics suggest that words can be both seductive and dangerous, and that language can be used to both inspire and terrorize. This interpretation adds a deeper layer of meaning to the song and hints at the band’s artistic and intellectual ambitions.

Overall, “Mouth” is a fascinating and intriguing song that showcases Vicious Rumors’ unique blend of metal and introspective lyrics. The band’s willingness to tackle complex issues and themes helped set them apart from other bands of their era and continues to make their music enduring and relevant to this day.
