Mark, this is just from one law enforcement officer in FL to you, PLEASE pat people down & tell them to leave any weapons in a drawer before interviews. They shouldn’t be insulted or give you grief since they live on the streets & so many have weapons to protect themselves. You did the exact right thing-you redirected him, didn’t show fear, didn’t yell or lecture him, basically you didn’t react. Beyond the damage all those drugs have done to his brain Victor wanted a reaction & to feel powerful. Ive had a gun put to my head 20yrs ago by someone I loved deeply & the fact that I responded so casually-I told him to “gtfo outta here with that bullshit. I have to work in 3hrs & need to sleep.”
As far as his interview, the cop in me was aggravated at all the slooooooooow rambling retarded shit he was saying. If true, Im sure he has pain & whatever pedo ring that was masquerading as missionary work he grew up clearly damaged him. I know you are tough & have had weird &/or dangerous things happen to you while showing the people basically I see at work everyday, but you also need to keep yourself & your vid crew, safe. As for Victor, I don’t see him turning it around & I’m genuinely concerned after him saying the KINDEST thing he could do is put that right through your head because somehow HE knows that this world is too awful..thats very telling to me as a cop.
He could have a whacked out thought or bad trip from PCP & impulsively stab someone walking by. The kindest thing he could do for himself is commit suicide. He’s unstable & dangerous, I’d be my life on the fact that hes not going into rehab/going to counseling.

Whether someone has organic mental illnesses such as severe schizophrenics, or someone whos violently crazy from drugs, it still doesn’t make them any less dangerous to the public. They rarely stay on meds, as Im sure you’ve seen in your work, Mark.
