White
Victor P. Young Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I came to you, when I needed a rest
You took my love, and put it to the test
I saw some things, that I never would have guessed
Feel like a railroad, I pulled a whole load behind

That old white line is friend of mine
And it's good time we've been making
Right now I'm rollin' down the open road
And the daylight will soon be breaking

I was adrift on a river of pride
It seemed like such a long easy ride
You were my raft but I let you slide
I've been down but I'm coming back up again

And I'm rollin' down the open road
Where the daylight will soon be breaking

Right now I'm thinking 'bout these things that I know
But it's good time that we've been making

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Victor P. Young’s song White seem to be about a person who needed a break from life and found solace in the arms of another. The singer came to the person they are addressing when they needed a rest, and it seems that they were not disappointed. However, the relationship was tested to see if it would stand the trials ahead. The singer saw things that they never would have guessed, but it made them feel like they had a whole load behind them, like a railroad.

The second verse of the song talks about the white line being a friend and the good times they have been having. The singer is currently rolling down the open road, and daylight will soon be breaking. The white line is often associated with the road, and it seems like the singer has a special connection to it.

The third verse talks about the singer being adrift on a river of pride, and they thought that it would be an easy ride. However, they soon learned that it was not. The person they were with helped them like a raft but they let them slide. It seems like the singer has been through a lot but is finally coming back up again. The white line is still their friend, and they are still rolling down the open road.

Overall, the song seems to be about someone who found relief and peace through the love of another. However, they had to go through trials to get there, and they have not forgotten the good times they have had. It’s a song about hope and finding happiness in unexpected places.

@SLACKWEED You’re looking at someone who says the edgiest stuff imaginable for attention. It’s almost like he had a checklist of things to do and say in this interview.

“I could put that right through your head and it’ll be the kindest thing I ever did to you”

“Im a psycho”

“When you put a gun to the doctors head they figure stuff out”

The guys a liar. He didn’t put no damn gun to a doctors head. He wants attention. I don’t doubt he’s been through rough stuff. I think that’s actually why he wants attention so bad.

Mark, this is just from one law enforcement officer in FL to you, PLEASE pat people down & tell them to leave any weapons in a drawer before interviews. They shouldn’t be insulted or give you grief since they live on the streets & so many have weapons to protect themselves. You did the exact right thing-you redirected him, didn’t show fear, didn’t yell or lecture him, basically you didn’t react. Beyond the damage all those drugs have done to his brain Victor wanted a reaction & to feel powerful. Ive had a gun put to my head 20yrs ago by someone I loved deeply & the fact that I responded so casually-I told him to “gtfo outta here with that bullshit. I have to work in 3hrs & need to sleep.”
As far as his interview, the cop in me was aggravated at all the slooooooooow rambling retarded shit he was saying. If true, Im sure he has pain & whatever pedo ring that was masquerading as missionary work he grew up clearly damaged him. Doesn’t make it ok that he pointed a gun at you with his finger on the trigger!!!!! OMG that was…well it broke the 2 most important rules when having a gun! Don’t point it at anything you aren’t willing to destroy, & KEEP YOUR MOTHERFUCKING FINGER OFF THE DAMN TRIGGER UNTIL YOU DECIDED TO SHOOT!!!!
I know you are tough & have had weird &/or dangerous things happen to you while showing the people basically I see at work everyday, but you also need to keep yourself & your vid crew, safe. Patting them down or having them wanded like when you go to a concert is the smartest thing you could do in the future. As for Victor, I don’t see him turning it around & I’m genuinely concerned after him saying the KINDEST thing he could do is put that right through your head because somehow HE knows that this world is too awful..thats very telling to me as a cop.

He could have a whacked out thought or bad trip from PCP & impulsively stab someone walking by. The kindest thing he could do for himself is commit suicide. He’s unstable & dangerous, I’d be my life on the fact that hes not going into rehab/going to counseling.
*JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS BEEN SEVERELY ABUSED, TRAUMATIZED & DAMAGED DOES NOT MAKE IT OK TO ALLOW HIM OTHERS TO HURT/MAIM/KILL PEOPLE WHO CROSS HIS PATH!
Whether someone has organic mental illnesses such as severe schizophrenics, or someone whos violently crazy from drugs, it still doesn’t make them any less dangerous to the public. They rarely stay on meds, as Im sure you’ve seen in your work, Mark.
God bless you & your crew

I think they did pat him down and let him keep the gun because, the gun wasn't even loaded lmao.

introxgrunt

Just like a cop to call someone the r-slur, dehumanize a drug addict and tell them to kill themself. Get fucked.

JoeNoSay

He racked the slide and a round never chambered. As terrible and as many rules he broke Mark was never actually in any immediate life threatening danger. I bet the magazine was empty which is why the slide locked back. He probably carries for intimidation/protection.

FrogFace

Of course the police officer views drug users and people with severe mental illness as evil murderers who routinely harm everyone. Sorry katherine, but police kill a lot more people then any of those type of people you fucking pig.

If you ain’t know you ain’t gotta know
