It Might Be You

Watching trains go by
All of my life lying on the sand
Watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life
Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life
Wondering how they met
And what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognize the face?
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
I think we're gonna need some time
Maybe all we need is time
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life
I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there's so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life
It's you, it's you
I've been waiting for all of my life
It's you, it's you
I've been waiting for all of my life
The song "It Might Be You" by Victoria Clark is a love song that centers around the themes of hope, longing, and serendipity. The singer of the song is reflecting on their life, watching the world around them pass by, and wondering when they will find their true love. The opening lines of the song set the tone, as the singer describes how they have spent their life "passing time" and watching trains go by. They have been lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly, and wishing that someone would be waiting for them when they get home.
The singer then begins to think about all of the lovers they have seen pass by in their life, wondering how they met and what makes their love last. They wonder if they will ever find the place where their true love is waiting for them, and if they will recognize their love when they finally meet. Throughout the song, the singer's hope and faith that they will find their true love is reinforced by the refrain, "Something's telling me it might be you."
The song ends with the singer expressing their certainty that they have found their true love. They know that they have been waiting for this person for their whole life, and that it is the person they have been longing for. The final lines of the song repeat the refrain, "It's you, it's you, I've been waiting for all of my life."
