In Victoria Mus's song "Es el Tiempo," the singer reflects on the passage of time and how it has led them to their current state. The opening lines suggest that the singer is recognizing how their "luck" or "fortune" is coming to an end - perhaps they are facing some sort of setback or challenge in their life. They look out over a sunset horizon and see only "hours drawn on paper," emphasizing the ephemeral nature of time and how our experiences are bound by its passing.
The singer then switches to a more hopeful tone as they express their desire to return to a moment of happiness - a chance encounter on a street corner where they met someone special. The repetition of the phrase "Es mejor lo que es cierto" ("what is true is better") reinforces the theme of finding solace in reality rather than clinging to fantasy or nostalgia. The song closes with a repetition of the phrase "Es el tiempo que me lleva donde estés" ("it's time that takes me where you are"), suggesting that even though time may have brought the singer some hardships, it is still leading them towards the person they love.
Overall, "Es el Tiempo" is a song about grappling with the impermanence of life and finding joy in the present moment. It reminds us that while time can be a fickle force, it is ultimately what brings us closer to the people and experiences that matter most.
