Enemy
Victory Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There are seven sins
I guess he did them all
A devil's lair
The writings on the wall
His body aches
It screams and yells through the night
Taking his soul
And tears his heart out
With delight now

Silent and quiet
Suddenly violently strong
His demon grows

Like the enemy
He can't fight himself no more
It's the vampire feast
His addiction turned man into beast

The endless nights
He tried to fight the need
A heavy trip
He finds his sweet sanctuary
An empty room
Closing in, he can't breathe

Silent and quiet
Suddenly violently strong
This demon grows

Like the enemy
He can't fight himself no more
It's the vampire feast
His addiction turned man into beast

Like the enemy
He can't fight himself no more
It's the vampire feast
His addiction turned man into beast

Man into beast
Like the enemy
He can't fight himself no more
No more

Like the enemy
He can't fight himself no more

It's the vampire feast
His addiction turned man into beast

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Victory's song "Enemy" touch upon the theme of addiction, specifically drug addiction. The opening lines suggest that the singer has committed all seven sins and their body is in agony. They are a slave to their addiction, and it is tearing them apart. The lyrics reference the "devil's lair," which suggests that the singer is aware of the severity of their situation but is unable to escape.

As the song progresses, the addiction is likened to a demon that is growing stronger and stronger within the singer. The line "It's the vampire feast, his addiction turned man into beast" suggests that the addiction is taking over and turning the singer into something they no longer recognize. The emptiness that the singer feels is palpable, and they are suffocating in a loveless, desolate place.

The chorus repeats the line "Like the enemy, he can't fight himself no more, it's the vampire feast. His addiction turned man into beast" which further emphasizes the loss of control the singer is experiencing. The addiction has taken over, and the singer is powerless. The final line of the song "No more" suggests that the singer has given up the fight and is succumbing to their addiction.

Everyone has a point... except for those of You who support nationalsocialism...
The guy overthere that said "they were figthing for thier people"; You are somewhat right... Many joined the Whermacht thinking that they were figthing for thier people.
The other guy who told me to put My heart on the line when I question the hearts of other; You are certainly right; lad, I'll add that to my list of values.

Some of You all gave me a bit of a new perspective. Thank You.

My original point still stands: those where young boys, barely teenagers. As with so ofthen is the case... Teens just don't think about politics much.

The art work is epic and inspiring. The soldiers look so confident, so manly.
Sadly, these Germans were mostly young men who fought for a cause they didn't even fully understand and ultimately succumbed to the pain of war.

Ivan Ivanoff Don't waste your time with these modernite pacifists. They do not have an iota of the spirit required to understand your wise words, son of Atlas.
