Ya habían participado de un compilado de 1993 junto a otras bandas. El disco se llamó "Una noche en La Cueva" y se ha transformado en un objeto de culto para los seguidores de la banda. Viejas Locas grabó dos temas: "Eva" y "Tirado en la estación". Este último no fue incluido en ninguno de los tres discos que la banda editó oficialmente, aunque se puede escuchar en grabaciones piratas de shows.
En agosto de 1997 salió a las calles "Hermanos de Sangre", el segundo disco de Viejas Locas. En este álbum se destacan "El chico de la Oculta", "Psicodélica mujer", "Difícil de entender" y "Perra", el corte difusión. "Especial" es el tercer disco, que contó con la producción de Nigel Walker. Se editó en marzo del '99 y resultó el mayor éxito comercial de la banda. El hit "Me gustas mucho" tuvo alta rotación en las radios porteñas.
A mediados del 2000, Pity se retira de la banda y realizan un último recital en La Matanza, sin anunciar que era el último. «La separación de una banda es como pelearse con una chica con la que estuviste casado diez años: no la aguantás más, pero todavía tenés sentimientos hacia ella. Yo me fui de la banda», comentaba Pity en una entrevista para Página/12 (26/12/2001).
De esta disolución surgen tres bandas: Intoxicados (con Pity y Abel Meyer), Motor Loco (la banda de Fachi) y La Lengua (la banda de Pello). En el año 2002 sale un CD recopilación titulado "Sigue Pegando - Grandes Éxitos", el que contiene los más grandes éxitos de Viejas Locas y un tema inédito: "El hombre suburbano", con la participación de Pappo en guitarras. A mediados de 2003 se edita el DVD "Viejas Locas", que contiene un recital grabado en vivo en el estadio Obras y 6 video clips de la banda.
El 2009 se inició con el rumor del retorno de la banda, con una gira nacional y un nuevo disco, que fue confirmado en una conferencia de prensa en Puerto Madero. Ese retorno se concretó la noche del sábado 14 de noviembre en el estadio de Vélez.
