‎TAKE ME HOME
Vince Staples Fousheé Lyrics

(One, two, three, four)
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
(Three, four, one, two)

I don't wanna die but I will for the cause
Swallowing my pride like them pills y'all be you off
I hate when you high but you hate feeling lost
I hate every time that you ask, "Can we talk?"

Tell me what I did now, drying off your tears now
Fighting for some years now, something's gotta give (forreal)
I don't want a rebound, I just wanna sleep sound
Don't wanna dream 'bout the shit I done did
You know these trips come with baggage, been all cross this atlas
But keep coming back to this place 'cause it trapped us
I preach what I practice, these streets all I've known
And it's no place like home
No place like home (yeah)

Ooh
Take, take me home like I clicked my shoes
I'm up, the price is sky high (sky high)
They say their two cents, I'm fine
I got no sense I fly like
Ooh ah, ooh ah
Only abide by my rules (yeah)

I'm on PCH going South, blower on the seat
With the windows down, music loud, let 'em hear the beat
When it's quiet out I hear the sound of those who rest in peace
Tryna drown the violence out but let 'em say that they want beef
And we riding out, finding out where them niggas be
If they hanging out lay 'em out airing out the street

Then it's out the way, outta state, please don't tell on me
Don't need no more felonies, all these broken memories

I be solo dolo, never know who working with police
When I hit the set it's loaded, I don't know who envy me
I'm the only one who made it out, you remember me?
Is you a frenemy? You plan on killing me? No?

Ooh
Take, take me home like I clicked my shoes
I'm up, the price is sky high (sky high)
They say their two cents, I'm fine
I got no sense I fly like
Ooh ah, ooh ah
Only abide by my rules

And I make mistakes sometimes, I
I try
I can't tell you who's an ally
I can't tell you who, who

Overall Meaning

The song "Take Me Home" by Vince Staples and Fousheé talks about a life of crime and the desire to return home despite being caught up in a world of violence and broken memories. Vince Staples opens the song by expressing his willingness to die for a cause he believes in, despite not wanting to die. He also talks about how he hates it when his partner is high but hates feeling lost, and when his partner asks if they can talk, he wonders what he did wrong this time. He admits to having "baggage" from his trips and returning to a place that trapped him. He grew up in the streets and can't replace the feeling of home.

The chorus is sung by Fousheé as if she's clicking her shoes to be taken away from the current situation. She talks about being high and feeling free and flying without any sense. She only abides by her own rules and doesn't care about what others have to say.

In the second verse, Vince Staples raps about driving on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) towards the south with loud music blasting from his car. He hears the sounds of the deceased, and despite trying to drown out the violence, he's ready to retaliate when someone says they want beef. He envisions himself laying out those who are after him and then moving out of state to avoid getting caught. He doesn't trust anybody and is constantly paranoid about being set up.

In conclusion, "Take Me Home" is a song about the struggles of living a life of crime, the desire to return home despite the violence and the fear of never making it out alive.

This is definitely the standout to me. His wordplay and the themes he kept through each verse was just too damn perfect. And of course Vince had is usual incredible rhyme schemes and flows. Truly an incredible track
